Do any of Logic X's instruments use logic loops as input data?

So I want to clear some space off the hard drive and move the stock loop library offsite. I'm just not going to use these loops ever. At least, I don't think I will, but then it occurred to me: does Alchemy (or any of the other logic instruments) need access to those loops in order to produce patches? Or is the loop library and the sample set library totally distinct?
I tried googling around but had a hard time getting an answer. So any info would be great.

(Also is "creating symbolic links" still the best way to move the loops offsite?)

Thank you!!
Why'd you slice off my hand?

As far as i gathered, distinct.

Best way to move them is go into logic menu and > sound library and click "relocate sound library"

Doesn't doing that relocate the entire sound library, including all the .exs instruments? I just want to move the loops.

I am new to Apple OSX and I downloaded and installed Logic which quickly filled up my system drive. So I found an old portable external hardrive I had kicking around and formatted it for OSX.

And then its just a matter of plugging it into a USB or USB C port and relocating the entire library over to it thus freeing up 60 odd GB on the system drive.

I keep meaning to order a fast USB C external SSD drive to speed things up, but meanwhile the old slow portable drive does the job, its just a bit tardy at loading stuff.

Thanks for the responses, everyone.

I guess I still want to know what is the best method for moving *only* the logic loops off the hard-drive. (Logic 10.5, Catalina)

I suggest saving all (critical) projects to self-contain samples before moving loops just in case.

Then these may help...
