I love the Blocks (despite old-fashioned Reaktor browser), but Kontour turned out as a dissapointment to me This one doesn't even have regular ADSR amp envelope and other basic features - despite intriguing sound.CausticPuppy wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 11:36 am The main things I’m interested in are Reaktor (blocks), Kontour, maybe a couple of the sample libraries. I already own a few softsynths so Massive X wouldn’t add anything fundamentally new, and I’ve had the demo for a few months.
All in all it’s probably worth $399, but would NI have a Black Friday sale on this upgrade considering the new version was just released?

Given a month until Black Friday, I would not expect to see Komplete discounted. They normally have a 50% off summer sale. Not sure if that will continue under the new management, but I suspect it will.CausticPuppy wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 11:36 am Can somebody convince me that I need this?![]()
I have Kontakt, so my upgrade to K13 standard is $399 (ultimate for $999).
Like many people, I will wait to upgrade then.

...but it doesn't have AMP. You can't set note attack or decay in first place.tq wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 12:49 pm Kontour does have ADSR, actually expanded to ADBDSR. Envelopes are on the left side. Or am I missing something...?!
ADSRs are linked to dedicated target parameters and not the others, so there's little flexibility in sound design.
As a result, making a fast arpeggio is a no-go. Unless you put it into a separate sampler. Either way, I don't have time for this nonsense, there are many other synths to use instead.

But what is the point of adding new, innovative features, if old features stop to work? It's not like it was impossible to add a good, old amp and modulation matrix on top of new synth concept. All the potential is ruined, and what looked good on paper doesn't work in daily production.

maybe someone has added such things.
i know that has happened to a few bits in the past (skrewell/metaphysical functions/space drone) to make them more useful in different contexts
my autocorrect tried to turn that in to metaphorical functions

Hey Guys:
I am experiencing something strange. I thought Super 8 was a new synth plug-in (like Massive-X). However, despite NA saying it is installed, it doesn't show up in the plug-ins list, neither is a DLL file installed ion the VSTPlugIns folder.
What's happening? What am I missing? Anyone?

Its a VST3 format plugin, try checking if your DAW supports that and directory where NI installs that pluginfmr wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 6:53 pm Hey Guys:

Guys did i get this right, none of the old plugins has been made resizable? I refrained from getting k11 and k12 respectively because i use 1440p screens and its unusable for me. So only new stuff looki good? I also dont understand the talk of 1080p is the standard, maybe in NIs world, literally every other plugin i have is scalable and in terms of screens as a tool, 1080p is kinda legacy. Sure, if you work in music, probably sticking to 1080p is wise but for everyone else its a joke. I, for example, work with text, and there is a huge jump in clarity with increased dpi, not to speak of media consumption.

I didn't specify a use, I specified a context. You know you can make music, without working in the music industry.vurt wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 8:21 pmwhat else am i going to use ni stuff for?gExpectations wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 7:08 pm 1080p is kinda legacy. edit: that is to mean: I can understand that if you use your computer only to make music on it probably because you earn your livelihood with it, you are incentivized to use a 1080p screen. Everyone else isn't.

bug or stupidity?
(regarding GR6)
automation of off/on switches (like reverse for delays, freeze, etc.) does not seem to work properly when using any of the two internal step sequencers. Only “off“ seems to be registered, not “on“. It works fine though using the other modulators like LFO, or envelope (follower)
Other than that (and the fact that it could load up a tiny bit faster, and the “missing“ Driver filter module
) my plugin of the year so far.
Oh and i really wouldn't buy it for the distortion.
Not that it's bad at it, but i think it still really shines in every other regard as a multi effect even more. As always. But now with even better effects than ever.

That's just not true. 1080p is still the standard and widely used in computing.gExpectations wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 8:34 pmI didn't specify a use, I specified a context. I can understand that you want the plugins to resize, because you use a higher resolution, but, there's no point in bending facts for that.
