Hi. After playing a Roland TD6 for years I now have a shiny Roland TD20. Recording the midi notes in Steinberg Cubase 5 works fine exept for the hihat. The "hihat closed" notes are recorded as "hihat open notes". I've tried to find a TD20 midi map for Cubase 5 and I've downloaded the V-drum map but the hihat issue is the same.

The question is probably been done before and I'm not shure if I post it in the right forum, but can anyone help me?

Perhaps anyone who made a midi map him/herself that I can download? Thanks. :)

In Cubase drum map setup you can make whatever input note coming in goes out as whatever note you need. "I/O".

Yeah I'm trying to figure that out. No luck so far. πŸ˜•

I think it's correct that way. Open and closed is handled with a continuous controller when set up correctly.

could well be. That is called a variable articulation, the typical CC is CC4, possibly hard-wired
So that is assigned in the drum software, the note-on triggers a variable hat which may have at one pole of that a pretty open hat and perhaps a tight close at the other extreme.

Thanks. I will check it out tommorow. πŸ™‚

and if the note-on is mapped with the attendant CC, value 0 tends to default to the most open. I set the most closed to 101-127, eg.

I solved it! I should choose for midi chanel 10. That solved the hi-hat problem. The rest of the kit was recording properly in Cubase 5! :)
