Maybe there's one out there already that I'm not familiar with.Basically, all I want to do is have access to my already exsisting VST/DX plugins for use while playing CD's/MP3's/Wav's ect in live mode.I already know about Music Match JuKebox(hate the GUI)and the plugs that work with that which I'm not interested in at all, only my exsisting VST/DX plugs.24/32 bit support would be nice but at this point I'd settle for 16.I only want this for my listening plearsure, not DJ purpouses so I'm not looking in that area either.Just something simple like Sonic Foundry's old Siren but with plugin support. If not a jukebox maybe someone knows of another app.

Not exactly what you asked, but the closest thing I know of is iZotope Ozone for Media Players that will work in WinAmp, Quintessential Player, and Windows Media Player.

WinAmp. Apart from VST plugin support, everything you've described can be found as plugins, including support for 24-bit audio, ASIO drivers (!) and whatnot. There's several DX-to-WinAmp adapters, you could use one of those and add a VST-to-DX adapter...

After a quick search,I noticed Cakewalk's Pyro 2004 supports DX plugs, and since I'm using Sonar anyway with the DX/Vst adapter this might be the solution, but there is no downloadable demo though so I can't be certain that I can use plugins in live mode for CD's.Anyone try Pyro 2004?

I tried that route a while ago, apart from not really liking Winamp anyway, the adapters were quite a bugged out nightmare and caused all kinds of freeze-ups and crash's.jmh wrote:WinAmp. There's several DX-to-WinAmp adapters, you could use one of those and add a VST-to-DX adapter...

I can relate to that. Most WinAmp plugins behave like they were the first coding project for the coder...
At some point I used to have a somewhat stable setup, I think it was X-adapt I was using for hosting DX plugins.
Too bad WinAmp is what it is, I still have some niggles with it (it especially hates alternative shells and virtual desktop systems)... hence I'm using XMplay when it comes to listening to streams (I've always had CPU issues with WinAmp when listening to streams) or when I'm running bbLean (I want my apps to follow my preferences when it comes to using them, I'm not going to give up on features I prefer because of some application misbehaving).
But WinAmp has the biggest variety of plugins, be it input, output, control etc. Hopefully some day we'll see a player which can support as many audio formats, can be controlled in the same fashion (I have a keyboard with multimedia controls, works nicely with WinAmp and media players I use for video playback), provides as much 'hooks' when it comes to interacting with other software - and hardware! (my htpc system has a 160x120 lcd and the current system reports WinAmp data, in the near future I'll have a remote control system where the lcd serves as a real display, meaning I can choose what to listen or view on tv with a remote, choosing things shown on the lcd)... haven't found a suitable replacement so far, and I've tried, oh I've tried...

what soundcard do you have? i have a delta44 and it allows me to route my sounds in such a way that i can have windows generated sound (such as from media player) playing thru a virtual mixer cabled into energyXT, whereby i can whack any number of vsts. i tend to play songs thru reaktor more tho, cus it's just plain messed up.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

There is a DX plugin available, which allows you to use DX plugins. I haven't tried it, but you could try using a DX to VST adaptor for the VST plugins.
