The Pulsar 565T would have a beautiful GUI if they would lose the dramatic perspective. Looks silly, and makes no visual sense when you move window to side of screen. And it isn’t consistent with their other plugins, which seems unprofessional to me.

Post

Does anyone know if they were actually acquired by plugin alliance? Or is that a joke?

Post

I would totally purchase but the price is just on the high side to make my mind switch to considering hardware - taking the funds for a pulsar purchase and applying then to a hardware purchase.

P900 clarified that they have no connection to Plugin Alliance. It was not a joke, it was an oversight.

Rats. $499 is a little absurd for any piece of software.

Post

Seems to work for Omnisphere. But they have better customer service and relations :)

Post

There is NO WAY that I will pay $499 for a piece of software synth. After a certain point, I go hardware.

Post

Buy the software then multiply the price by 3-4 times... Seems like a headscratcher to me, but hey, they can do what they want with it.

Post

pure arrogance

I picked up mine a couple years ago before it changed ownership. I think it is the best Moog Modular VA we have, but I agree that $499 is ridiculous.

Well yeah, but I shudder to think what I may be asked to pay as an existing user for any future upgrades- this is an insane pricing model

I was interested in P900... but it is AU only and Bitwig is VST only so I did not purchase. At $500, when the new ownership has not even showed something new and impressive in terms of functionality, compatibility or stability, it is unlikely I will ever consider it again.

The good news for you is you might be able to sell it for more than you bought it for!

Well, they did do a new release that is definitely more stable and compatible, even though it's AU-only. The original version I had, for example, would not run in Hosting AU or Ableton. It only worked in Logic. Now it works in all three. But that's not worthy of a price increase, obviously. That would be like selling a car that only runs on 4 lane highways, and doubling the price when it can also run on 2 lane roads.

Ahh... good clarification! Didn't know they released anything

Post

They actually tripled the price.
