I concur that the CS80 is the most likely candidate. He's raved about his love for it on sonic-talk numerous times, and if anyone is going to do it "right" it would be Gforce (imho). I do not recall him making any reference to the arp2600 in the innumerable 'talks' I've watched, though I can't imagine him not having one at some point in his career, which has been extensive. Personally, I'd potentially be swayed to get another soft-synth, were it the arp2600.
Well there is the quote from earlier in this thread, taken from the emails, where Dave mentions 'continuing their love for Arp' which certainly suggests the 2600.

But that said, they also said products with an S so maybe we will get BOTH... :tu: :tu:
Oh cool, I missed that reference to the Arp, :hyper: ... and I have heard him say 'products' on several occasions, but he remained rather (deliberately) vague.

that doesn't necessarily mean the new products will be released at the same time as the updated site....
Way to ruin the party.

Anyway...I say CS-80 Friday!!!

I really hope it's a CS-80 so we can watch people who've never owned the hardware, or played the hardware or even been in the same room as the hardware can go on for fifty pages about how it "doesn't sound anything like the hardware". :tu:

As many as you like, just bounce the audio (mute the midi track) and then move on to the next track....no different than working with CPU Hog VSTs!

This is just a good way to work anyway imo, regardless of CPU overheads. It encourages you to commit and move forward. Working in the audio domain opens more doors than it closes, so it's a win all-round, unless procrastinating is winning for you

Yes, having such restrictions and only one way to proceed is such a win isn't it.

I like HW as much as the next HW-liker but to try and wriggle around the fact that logistically SW has more options, is just kidding yourself really. HW has got other strengths, but not that one.
