No wriggling from me- I also use both, but being able to use more than one of something at the same time isn't necessarily a good reason to use software (I have so many software VSTs I rarely use the same one twice, especially if its an analogue polly!).revvy wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:49 am Yes, having such restrictions and only one way to proceed is such a win isn't it.
I like HW as much as the next HW-liker but to try and wriggle around the fact that logistically SW has more options, is just kidding yourself really. HW has got other strengths, but not that one.
Software is very convenient, doesn't take and I/O, easier to automate and recall patches, cheaper...lots of reason to stay ITB...but ultimately it comes down to 'sound' (and there is very little difference nowadays with good VA and real analogue) and tactile experience for me...that and it looks good in my studio and seems to make me happy in a way that software never can
Personally I have no real interest in either a hardware or VST CS-80, but I do think the Behringer DS-80 looks sexy!
