Demis Hellen created a nice tutorial for designing a splitted trance sequence.
Some important core concepts for the creation of bigger layered presets are shown here.

Something I've noticed with Rapid and needs sorting out (vetted), is the naming of preset patches which are provided. They are immature and offensive towards women. I mean, an arpeggiation patch called "Clean Up My Room Bitch". Created by Mirko Ruta.. Like seriously... what kind of message is Parawave trying to send here ? Because it certainly isn't a good one. It's not the only instance, there's a category of the arp presets with couple of X'ed out letters, which anyone with reading ability would interpret. I mean sure one can either rename or delete them, but that's kinda missing the point I'm making. I've no idea how many more instances like this that there might be in their preset packs but really... it's not a good look and it's not funny.
I've over 10,000 patches for Hive, none of them are like this.

I'm perfectly calm, why wouldn't I be...it's not like I'm swearing, and typing in block capital letters and to let you know, I've spent the past 20 years posting across a range of creative forums. I'm pointing something out that I think Parawave needs to address with the products assets that are provided.

Sounds like someone believes those perjoratives are gender specific when they really haven't been for at least a couple of decades now...Caine123 wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:57 pmpolitical correctness now in KVR...THE INTRANCER wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:25 pm Something I've noticed with Rapid and needs sorting out (vetted), is the naming of preset patches which are provided. I actually hate the word "namaste" and summarily rewrite it every time to "itnasty".
It really is simpler to "wear slippers instead of trying to carpet the world".

I don’t like the term “political correctness” because politics has nothing to do with it. It’s just about decency, plain and simple. Why use language that is bound to cause offence when it isn’t necessary? Why name a synth patch that way? Does anybody honestly believe that’s clever or funny? It isn’t either.
It comes down to whether you choose to wilfully cause offence or not. What reaction do you expect to naming a synth patch that way? Perhaps you could use racial slurs for a bass patch next time. That might get a cheap laugh.

While one can call a guy, "bitch," and I could see a frat guy saying that to one of his mates, it does have the implication of talking to a woman. Right up there with "make me a sandwich." They ought to rename it, if they care about their image.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

yeah im not native english so this was the wrong term, sorry guys, i just wanted to mean you can always overreact to titles thats why i used the RAP genre as an example. i dunno is there a better word or naming to use instead of political correctness?quincy wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:58 pm I don’t like the term “political correctness” because politics has nothing to do with it. What rap music has done to reinforce a negative view toward women in those who listen to it has been significant. I wouldn't downplay it at all.Caine123 wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:57 pm when i listen to rap and check the lyrics, oh my, i would have to stop listening to rap music mostly. maybe i should overthink what im listening to.
"Overthink," here, is a dismissive, thought-terminating cliché. It would be nice to never see that damn word in discussions ever again. Blech.

It's not going to make me not buy Rapid, but the preset name is unfunny, immature and unnecessary.
