Snowflakes. While I agree it's unnecessary, I also think it's not meant to be harmful and some of you overreact.

This is factory preset yes? Factory preset is part of Rapid yes? Mirko Ruta is part Rapid sound design yes? Sounds are part Rapid yes? So this is about Rapid and Rapid is the product yes?C-quence wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 6:33 am Could we please make create a specific thread about this topic and keep this one for the product itself?

The other side of this is about the response to the criticism. I can totally understand that people sometimes cause offence without intending to and I'm sure we've all been on both sides of that. It perhaps would have been nice, given the clear sentiment here of "no need to use offensive language in a synth patch", if Mirko had just said "sorry, I didn't mean to cause offence and I'll think twice about it next time".
We all make mistakes and, whilst I can't speak for anyone else, that probably would have been enough for me. It would have shown a bit more respect for his customers as well as a bit of humility. I think we all recognise when someone knows they've got it wrong but they just dig in and try to pretend they haven't. Again, I've done that myself.
I can also recognise that a person isn't defined by any one mistake or action. I personally don't like the "cancel culture" (if I'm using the term correctly) when the public try to destroy a person's reputation based on some mistake they've made. I think people should be allowed to realise that they did something wrong (often a simple absent-minded mistake or a poor choice of words) and apologise and move forward.

So i think my message was not understood as I intended. I didn't mean to laugh at a customer with my message. I wanted to show that "my girlfriend" can laugh at this 'bad" word, too. That's all! So again, calm down. If someone feels personally attacked, then I apologize.
But,... I don't apologize for the name of the preset. Apart from the fact that the word "bitch" isn't gender-sensitive these days, no female customer has complained about it.
If someone complains about certain functions or bugs of Rapid, we accept them and put them on our to-do list (if it makes sense to us). In this case, however, I just can't take it seriously. The preset name is retained. If you really feel bad with the preset-name, just rename it.
Peace!
Edit: there is a preset called "Crispy Chicken". I apologize in advance to all vegans.
Don't take it all so seriously.

Yup...( there's a few patches other than this one though (full unedited expletives), you can find in there. So I brought this up because it's more of a general thing, and sends a bad image and that of which is completely unnecessary given the nature of the product and that of which indicate views that one may interpret the developers having, as well as portraying an unprofessional look upon them.SoundHunterrr wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 6:41 am This is factory preset yes? I don't think that's a fact, or your decision to make. Would you call your mother a bitch? Or your daughter? What if I called your mother or daughter a bitch and then said "don't take it so seriously". Would that be fine with you?Mirko R. wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 8:00 am ...the fact that the word "bitch" isn't gender-sensitive these days...
I'm afraid you don't get to choose what causes offence or what the implication of a word is.

Its not a 'bad word', its the context its used in (its intent) that may be bad...if use d in lieratire, lyrics or pre-sets I dint find it offence, I would if it was said as an insult to a female.
I suspect a large % of modern dance/hip hop/RB/rap etc has far worse words in the lyrics- do you want to ban it all?
Funnily enough I was just playing with Diva and I have patches in an expansion (REZO) called (and I am adding the *) 'Fu*k me sister' and 'such a retard!'...my kids think 'retard' is a very offensive word. There are hundred of puns on 'Fat Bas*tard' type pre-sets out there as well, I am fat, but somehow I don't take offence, I can see it for what it is....
If you want to discuss offensive pre-sets names in general maybe open a new OT thread and stop derailing this one?

its describing the sound, not you.... tho you could argue about the suggested illigitamacy of the presetSLiC wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:33 am word. There are hundred of puns on 'Fat Bas*tard' type pre-sets out there as well, I am fat, but somehow I don't take offence, I can see it for what it is....

Peeps... I cannot believe your behaviour in any way...
People get killed, illegaly imprisoned and terrorized by their own governments all over the world with the excuse of a fake desease where everybody is infected and nobody gets ill and you honestely battle against each other because of how a preset designer named a preset???
Perhaps you all should start to concentrate on things that matters nowadays and not such bollocks.
