Hi everyone. Sean and I have discussed this and we really don’t feel that putting Supermassive into a competition is in the spirit in which the plugin was conceived. Given that it was created as a special giveaway during a time of global crisis to help people feel creative and also offer them a useful tool when money might be tight, placing it into a “competition” just feels wrong. Perhaps that’s silly, but it’s the position we would like to maintain.

I hope that makes sense.

Fair enough mate, I get it, this shit has been dragging on so long I’d forgotten about the rationale. I’m just happy we got it and wanted to ensure you were aware we couldn’t vote for it. :tu:

I respect this position, and it totally makes sense. Thanks again for this incredible power toy. I have all of your products and will surely pick up the next one, too.

Thanks, and don't think we are unaware of the love and support for it! We do truly appreciate all the kind words.

Perhaps you can add it to the KVR database after this year's voting ends just to have it listed there. Makes it easier for folks to learn about it, write reviews, etc. Should really be there IMO. But I respect not wanting to get it added now.

Now get back to feeding Timmy!

It isn't silly but wise and makes perfectly sense. Thanks for all the work and the good spirit.

And that brings us to the most important question - when you are pulling a late one at work and you arrange to get food delivered does at least one of you shout "TONIGHT WE DINE IN VALHALLA!" ?

The bummer is that we can't work together in the same room right now due to the Covid insanity. Lots of phone calls, facetime and zoom. Sad, but true...

I bet that's tricky when you're trying to do anything with audio, all these different streaming techs seem to treat audio quality as an afterthought. I'm in the same boat with work, but at least the 30 second commute isn't too painful.

I think we all know what really happened here.
And the winner for Favorite Free Virtual Effect is our old friend Valhalla with their ValhalaFreqEchoValhallaSuperMassive...

According to mail there is new update of Supermassive:

Our latest plugin, ValhallaSupermassive, has been updated with 4 new reverb/delay modes:
  • Triangulum is perfect for huge long reverbs, looping delays, and massive slabs of sound.
  • Great Magellanic Cloud is designed for enormous reverbs, long delays, and sonic clusters that hang in spaces for a seeming eternity.
  • Cirrus Major is designed to create sparse and spacious echos and reverbs.
  • Cirrus Minor is also designed for sparse and spacious echoes and reverbs, but on a smaller scale. Very nice for mid-80s "digital room" reverb sounds.

Havent updated it yet, anyone tried it yet?
