There are only 16 parameters which can be automated or MIDI learn's, for example. It also could have wavetable import. The auxiliary oscillator you can add in the insert fx section has inversed waveform. The performers are a bit hard to wrap your head around. And the synth didn't have parameter value readouts on release.

It's not perfect, but, as good as it gets in other regards for me. Hope they'll further develop it like they did with Massive.
e-crooner wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2020 7:39 pm By the way, I find Element 2 vs S1 odd, they are rather different. S1 is a lot about voice stacking, supersaw etc., while Element is very old-skool, not unlike Noisemaker.
Yeah. Having unison on oscillator base is a big thing for me in Sylenth1, especially as the unison sounds so damn good.

Post

No idea of unison, I never use more than 2 voices per oscillator, and usually only on one layer :hihi:

One difference I hear is that Element and other more modern synths have some sort of white noise in the filter, that is more or less missing in S1. The white noise is like a filler between the waves that makes the sound more dense and pleasant. Hard to describe.
Is that the way it is on hardware as well?

I din't buy it then, but have free license for it with beat magazine and would say not bad synth, may use it somewhere, but can't compare Sylenth1 as sound, have vintage analog vibe, but character is different, have to spend more time with it some day may pop up something interesting, after 3 years of using Sylenth1 i can say it has unique sonic signature,Element is promising in this direction as well, there is character for sure, that's why people use this type of synths, their temper touch.
Sorry for free advertising, just to compare what can do with them, definately will work well together:)
Cheers :)

That guy reminds me of Trump, he is also impressed by the most basic things :hihi:

It's definitely not bad. Guess we're just spoiled these days that such a synth doesn't really peek out from the mass.

Anyway, I haven't tried it for a while, still have it installed. For the price of a mag, it's a no brainer really. ;)

What's nice and should be copied by other developers is the way the mouse wheel works. The faster one turns the wheel, the bigger the steps per wheel notch. I.e. fine tuning without pressing Shift with the other hand, simply by turning the wheel slowly :tu:

I used to buy every possible discounted synth, which is kind of weird, cause don't use them actually, but some synths are 'must have' for specific job,so i guess that's the dilemma with Element,is there any special powers or just ordinary synth for old school type of sound :)

Crazy, someone sells E2 for $7 on KVR, is that what it's worth these days?! 8)

What I noticed is that it has a relatively narrow panorama, and there is no stereo spread knob to change that. It is not a problem, though, just saying, I actually like that kind of "compact", old-skool sound. I guess our hearing is so used to rather wide sounds by now that E2 sounds like mono in comparison to, say, Sylenth1 etc. :hihi:

Has Wave abandoned it by now? No real update in 5 years if I am not mistaken. Maybe it's not worth the effort in view of those low prices...

Post

I stopped using it as i quickly encountered random behavior for same settings (like setting knob1 first then knob2 produced different sound than setting knob2 first then knob1. Trigging a small change in knob1 would cancel the bug and get the whole to normal). I can't remember the precise settings though. Otherwise i loved the sounds but felt it uncomplete ; plus it was just before then gift it to some magazine :/

Post

Yes, it doesn't feel as solid and mature as other synths somehow. A bit of a shame...

Also, I think the black skin looks better, they should simply have removed the v1 sound engine as v2 always sounds better and kept the black skin.

So, I uninstalled the whole Waves thingy, but somehow Element is still in my DAW, I mean, I can open it and play it.
How come and how do I get rid of it completely?

The Element synth is wrapped within the waveshell.dll in windows 10. Perhaps a rescan of the vst folder helps.

You should uninstall the plugins before you uninstall the Waves Central.

I've got it for free and with that price it's worth to have it.

I found the Element VST3 shell thingy in Windows Explorer. Can I simply delete it or should I reinstall the whole Waves app in order to delete the plugin first?
