Well, this is sad for sure.
Did Vanguard 2 get dumped because something like pre-order sales did not amount to much?

As i installed Live 32 and all my plugins as 32 bit .. which was a LOT of work, i also installed Vanguard. The main reason i did this was actually for Nexus as it is a really good rompler and has some of the best drums (with the expansion).
This morning, after a night of ear torture and extrem sound sensitivity (tinnitus + asberger + love for making music = nightmare), i launched up Vanguard.
What is it with vanguard that makes it sound so extremely great? It is a serious question
As it's not for sale anymore i guess this is the 303 of soft synths...

I love vanguards sound! simply put... it has "bite" and an 'edge' to it, that immediately takes me back, in that "definitive sound" (for me) of/for an "era" not necessarily a "genre"... it makes me smile, and want to DANCE. that's it.Crackbaby wrote:What is it with vanguard that makes it sound so extremely great? I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

That would be great, but unless you have some inside intel that you can share, that ship sank years ago.

Heard that rumor back then via newsletter, heard it some weeks ago again, will only believe it once I can download the installer
The only thing that makes it plausbile to me now is that refx seems to be in need of money...

When I saw this thread, I was thinking how I've missed Vanguard 2

I would agree, if they'd hadn't surprised everyone with the new Nexus. I also remember someone being pretty close to them (Manuel Schleis?) saying that they actually work on it.

Tbh it's 2020, I don't even care about it at all anymore. Lot's of new products have been released imo way better products. And since the refx flop all faith in them is gone. I'd not buy anything anymore from them even if the Vanguard2 miracle happens one day.

I'd only be interested if they keep the characteristic sound of the original, but with a more modern UI and feature set. Not so much if it's just another "me too" VA.

Wasn't the problem with Vanguard2 it has originally been coded by the Tone2 founder who left refx? If so, I doubt it will sound the same or even close.cryophonik wrote: Wed Oct 14, 2020 6:23 pm I'd only be interested if they keep the characteristic sound of the original, but with a more modern UI and feature set. Yeah, that's definitely a possibility, but hopefully reFX still has the code and would just build upon it. I have no idea, though. Then again, if it's a free update for v1 owners, I won't complain either way.Soundplex wrote: Wed Oct 14, 2020 6:29 pmWasn't the problem with Vanguard2 it has originally been coded by the Tone2 founder who left refx?
