Gotta give it up for one of the most influential guitarists who ever lived!

Thanks for all the good times, Ed! :phones:  :tu:

I still think "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" is one of the best riffs ever.

you know, way back when I first started with alternate tunings (last century) I was messing around with Am (EAEACE) and most of that riff can be played on open strings in Am, but it also imo has more of the feel of the riff as well...drop the entire tuning down a half step and even more so. Not sure if that's how it's really played, actually kind of doubt but discovering it that way rejuvenated that riff for me. I haven't played that song in probably over a decade, but it did help inspire me to stick with alternate tunings, see what else was fun to play...fwiw crazy train in EAEACE is kinda cool too.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Oh, sad. A rare and unforgettable talent, never did the arrogant rock star thing. 5150 was my soundtrack of certain unforgettable summer... (sorry, Dave).

If Clapton was god, then what was Eddie? I'll leave you to ponder that... putting on Eruption now.

It's interesting that you mention Crazy Train here. I always thought those 2 riffs had similarities, but never really thought about it. Now that you have mentioned that alternate tuning, I'll have to go get the guitar out :tu:

Rest in Peace EVH
It's so sad many people who I remember from my childhood are passing away in recent years.
