It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

All I want at this point is for them to copy Bitwigs way of handling audio clips, where you can just drag the time out, insert a second sample in the same audio clip and move them around etc.

And what is the benefit of this over just joining 2 audio clip in Live ?docbot wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:56 pm All I want at this point is for them to copy Bitwigs way of handling audio clips, where you can just drag the time out, insert a second sample in the same audio clip and move them around etc.

It helps to easily move, copy around lots of small audio bits that you do not want to join. You just select the container instead of trying to select the whole bits.I use the feature with Studio One when I chop up a sample and want to keep it chopped or if I lay the kick drum on an audio track and want to keep each hit seperate so if I change the tempo the kicks just follows the grid instead of joining them and having to stretch the whole file and degrading it. Also by containers, parts you get a cleaner, tidier look. Nothing essential but helpful.Jolaff wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 12:42 amAnd what is the benefit of this over just joining 2 audio clip in Live ?docbot wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:56 pm All I want at this point is for them to copy Bitwigs way of handling audio clips, where you can just drag the time out, insert a second sample in the same audio clip and move them around etc.

The biggest benefit is you can edit audio right there in Clip Launcher, which you can't do in Live - you need to drag a clip to Arrangement, edit it and drag it back to Session.Jolaff wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 12:42 amAnd what is the benefit of this over just joining 2 audio clip in Live ?

Big +1 from me for this. I love Live as a creative tool and it's overall approach to production, but I'm dying for minor editing workflow improvements like this. It's really annoying when you have chopped up audio and you have to decide whether to create a new audio file, to keep things tidy and easier to work with or keeping your options open and saving disk space. Container clips are pretty standard across the board now, so I hope Ableton will include them soon.andypryce wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 6:12 amIt helps to easily move, copy around lots of small audio bits that you do not want to join. I don’t use it much but it’s a good feature.
I use it in S1 for drums but in BWS the Clip is more flexible than S1.

Ableton definitely seem to be the slowest of the bunch to do minor updates. I always think they are resting on their laurels. There are so many things about the arrangement view that just plain irritate me, mainly the irrational waste of space in many cases, as if it hasn't been thought out properly. Does anyone know how to feedback to Ableton suggestions for improvements?

I'd love to see a strip silence feature added.

Wasn't it $199 last time?leeleema wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 3:09 pm...reviewers wet their pants and say that alone is worth the $99 upgrade.
True about the pants, though

I just checked. It was EUR199 in Feb '18 for 9 Suite -> 10 Suiteleeleema wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 3:58 pmBlimey. You chaps might be right. I remember upgrading to suite from standard when 10 came out and that was a few bob. $300 rings a bell. That's a lot isn't it
