It's incredible how people differ - such thing is completely irrelevant to me, to the point where I'd say it clutters the software
I'm curious what more is there.

It is implemented in a way that does not clutter at all and with track search feature it is very useful for people as you said using lots of tracks.antic604 wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 11:02 amIt's incredible how people differ - such thing is completely irrelevant to me, to the point where I'd say it clutters the softwareBut probably I'd see it differently if I myself was making huge projects or in particular I'd work on someone else's projects.

I'm sure it is, but when I was starting with S1 I would CONSTANTLY click or press something and some thing would happen that I couldn't find what it was. This was never the case with Bitwig, because of how "few" options it has in comparisonandypryce wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 11:35 amIt is implemented in a way that does not clutter at all...

So MPE still only with VST2 instruments?

That's why you don't use a monitor that size at native resolution with such a small scaling.BONES wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 2:04 am At native res, a 27" 4k screen is unusably small. Menus, toolbars, etc. on our software are too small to interact with, especially with a stylus (which is what most of them use), but also with a mouse with normal settings.
If you want more screen real estate, buy a bigger monitor.
But that's not what I said. You seem to be confusing resolution with scaling. And your point about native resolution is precisely what I mean - you can't use a 27" monitor at 4k
Nobody buys a 4K screen at that size to use it at 100% scaling.
You can work perfectly with it set to its native resolution, you just need to set scaling to 200%. Then everything is at its proper size with the benefit of sharper text, images, etc...
That's exactly the point. See above.unless you press your nose up to it while you work, which is why everyone wants all their VSTi to have resizable GUIs. And what's the point of doubling the screen res if you have to double the size of your software interfaces in order to be able to use it?
It's not oversized if set up properly. It's then the size it's intended to be. That's WHY GUIs are all getting resizable .You are just creating problems for no benefit. On my 17" HD screen, I generally use resizable GUIs at less than 100% so they very likely take up less room on my little screen than the same plug-ins over-sized GUI does on your 4k screen.
I have a gaming rig and GPU power does not concern me the least bit.So why bother sucking extra GPU power to drive all those pointless extra pixels and make extra headaches for developers who have to make special GUIs just so you can feel good about making a poor decision? It's ridiculous.
It's called evolution. At some point the benefit of more extra pixels will really be neglectable.
We haven't reached that point yet. At least not with the screen size and resolutions we are discussing here.
If you personally can't see the benefit of a screen having text that looks as sharp as printed text, well... then, again, it's not your decision to make for other people who can.
(left 2k@100%, right 4k@200% at the same size)

Man, I would like to switch to a Windows machine next upgrade but I've gotten so used to the iMac's 27" 5K screen I can't figure out how to get the same experience with Windows.sQeetz wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 8:23 pm That's why you don't use a monitor that size at native resolution with such a small scaling.

The small enhancements here and there in the workflow are really great
These actually what we use most of the times, so very nice of Presonus to think of the user's perspective side and keep polishing it.
It is now almost the perfect DAW
They still need to fix the midi tempo review (it doesn't switch correctly. It seems only Cubase is getting this right!). Anyway, this is really minor

Exactly! But, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe 27" was the size you mentioned, too, so what you're saying is that you agree with me but you put up with it anyway, presumably because you'd rather go blind than admit you made a poor choice. Anyway, I won't even bother reading the rest of your post, you're clearly being irrational.sQeetz wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 8:23 pmThat's why you don't use a monitor that size at native resolution with such a small scaling.
