Its £230 to Upgrade from Live 9 Suite to Live 10 Suite in the UK. I waited until 10.1 (the .1 was more useful to me that the 10!) and the 40% off sale....still too expensive for what they added IMHO, but I await what else may come with interest.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S49MK2, Studio One, BWS, Live 12. PUSH 3 SA, Osmose, Summit, Pro 3, Prophet8, Syntakt, Digitone, Drumlogue, OP1-F, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Nord Drum3P, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I'm waiting for 10.2 to sell my license (again!) as I'm moving to Linux

No matter what's next or how much, it's still a great bonus to music making.
My best DAWs so far.

I'm assuming the update will be good, so I get better price. I'm not in a hurry.
Unless they DO release a Linux version, then I'm gonna keep it...

No, it does. There's more interest around it when new update comes out, especially when we talk about Ableton "the glacial pace" Live

Not if it doesn't work on Linux, which it won't.liquidsound wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 7:41 pmBy the next update you will be rethinking again and again and again.
I literally love it there!

Then it will be two things you need to rethinking again and again and again.
I tried Linux about 5 years ago and then back to reality.
Today it’s probably a much better place than then but I’ve got business to take care of so...
Best luck though

Thanks. If music is a business for you, then I'm not surprised. But it's a hobby for me for which I don't really have time, so the fewer DAWs and plugins I have access to, the betterliquidsound wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 7:52 pm I tried Linux about 5 years ago and then back to reality.

100% Agree on this, at least at the initial stages of my music I always use the same template "DNA" as I call it.
Omnisphere, Zebra HZ, Serum, Diva, and essential effects (They actually are 90% of my work with Ableton, out of so many )
Just today I've got this M4L device "Carver" and OMG, it actually it's going to change in a major way my beat making forever (+ Groove pool with it... ) and that's going to be part of the DNA Template.
Yes, simplicity, totally with you.

As in my original reply I agree with your view. There are many teams at Ableton working on different aspects of the program.Switched from Cubase when V1 of Live came out and now we are at 10.1.25.Its improving like a fine wine not going off like stale cheese.antic604 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 6:04 amThis is such a preposterous position to hold. The fact that someone doesn't e.g. use racks or M4L to their full potential doesn't mean they're not held back because of lack of MPE, comping, ARA integration.risome wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 2:37 amNo they are focusing on stability not new features. Most people don't even scratch the surface with itGhlow wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 2:33 am Yeap.. it's been like what? a year and a ha'f since we've seen a major update from Ableton? I think they are done for. Too many Daw's have now copied their precious Session View(clip launcher) feature and they've lost the edge. Bitwig is what Ableton should have been by now and that ship sailed long ago.

I'd switch to Linux for my audio computer if the Valhalla plugs-ins worked there...
