Discovered this for myself that here is often a tendency going on for putting stuff down without testing or knowing things.
This is normal human behaviour but every place has its own groove for sure

I'n looking forward to this synth.
Perhaps a questionable audio demo (even though I liked it), but Brian is a very inventive and imaginative developer so the synth itself should be pretty interesting.

Ultimately, a demo version of the software (rather than a short audio demo) will convince us one way or another.
I'm optimistic about Plasmonic being a success :)

It sounds great to me. The demo could be more revealing, but it's clear the kind of semi-organic hybrid sounds this thing is capable of.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

You can’t please everyone... but you can make everyone miserable. I think it sound great. I missed being a backer, but I’ll be happy to sign up for a license when its released.

Like I've said the synth looks and sounds like a rather uninspiring physical modeling synth the likes of which have been available in Reaktor for more than a decade. I'm not really interested in your narrative that anyone of us is basing this purely on this one guy's demo track, but believe whatever makes you feel validated I guess, and in so doing you'd be exhibiting normal human behavior indeed.

You're right about one thing, this place is definitely f**king toxic
You're coming conclusions about a product before it has been released based on almost no information. Then for some reason you feel you need to share this with people? I'm all for different opinions, but I'm not for uninformed negativity as freedom of expression. I base my excitement off of the synths author being a particularly inventive person, Absynth was ahead of it's time. You're basing your negativity off of a few demos, and no actual hands on experience.

You go to a plug in fan site, and post on a new companies first product before it comes out, and it's all just negative panning, but you somehow think other people are toxic? You own that label kind sir.

Do you realize where we are?

Your opinion is based on as little data as mine is, and is no more valuable or informed. I loved Absynth too. Get over yourself, don't condescend. I say it's actually more valuable to base excitement for a synth off audio demos and GUI teasers than to blindly praise and viciously defend a synth before it's released based on its developer alone, but it doesn't much bother me if you feel differently.
You go to a plug in fan site, and post on a new companies first product before it comes out, and it's all just negative panning, but you somehow think other people are toxic? You own that label kind sir.
You start pointless arguments, disallow others from sharing their opinions when they don't match up with yours, and label your opinion as superior when it's based on the same available data as anyone else's. That's toxic, truly.

Post

yay! lets argue rather than discuss a synth...

seems both of you are being a little toxic, ignore one another

true, it gives a decent enough idea of a few sounds. but to base a purchase on this alone, no of course not, hands on to see what it can actually achieve, cant get that from someone elses choices, but you get a reasonable enough idea of the overall sound, and id ahree with "semi organic" theres deginitely something there, that i havent quite heard elsewhere.

but for now its a definite "keeping an ear on tbis!" :)
