I like to work in the evenings and for 3 hour stints , how about everyone else !

Whenever inspiration strikes. And usually around 2-3 hours, maybe less, maybe more.
I start from zero: an unpatched modular, usually no presets, maybe a vague general plan or experiment to try. I will noodle for a while, and if I hear something I like, I switch gears into production mode.
At that point I'll build up more parts if I feel like it needs them, try a couple of combinations and then record live, in one take, to a single stereo file -- no multitracking, no endless tweaking and fiddling, just committing and keeping it spontaneous, in one session.
After that there's at least some minor editing (to clean up start/end, adjust the overall level etc. if not anything more radical, which sometimes I'll do). Maybe more editing after a couple of days after I've had a chance to listen with fresh perspective.

Two or three hours, mostly in the late evening. I hope to change that a bit, when I try to do NaSoAlMo next month (again), because it doesn't suit my schedule well. Mixing stuff only in the morning.

I do whatever it takes. I'm not watching the clock. I try not to bang my head against the wall with a problem, learned to cut my losses but some ideas are worth the struggle. 2 hrs is probably a short session for me unless it was something which went so well I'd better quit while I'm ahead.
In the thick of it I start just about as soon as I'm up for the day. I work on tracks in my sleep sometimes, possibly waking up with a solution to a knotty passage. I also may rest my ears for days for certain things (which have no obvious model or direct precedent and I need distance/perspective).
