Wow my "44.1 kHz problem" is gone

I had a cable before that was fairly new, but it seems to be faulty. Thanks for the tip, I'm so happy now because I've had this problem for 2 years.

After a almost 10 years I got a new card and I'm parting from my fully functional E-MU 1616m.
I was running it on windows 10 pro for workstations, 2004
I have everything, the box it came in, the installation disks, the different plugs for different countries, PCIe, the doc, the midi cables.

So, card is working great at all resolutions. My question now is SPDIF. I have an Emulator sampling synth keyboard. I can do analog, SPFID of AES (professional). I have selected SPDIF for the output. Have a strip for SPDIF in patchmix. Selected routing for ASIO 5/6 and or monitor 4 out. No movement of the meters in patchmix. I want to record dicital direct to the DAW just as I do analog. Those who use the SPFIF option, how have you set up Patchmix in this instance. I did not select SPDIF as the external clock source. Am using internal DAW for that.

Hi Guys, installed my 1820m according to the guide on a fresh win'10 install. Audio seems to be working perfectly, only i'm not getting any midi. The midi lights are not visible on the dock as well.

I didn't get any error messages during the install, however when looking in device manager i'm getting something like 'device was not installed properly, please finish install". Do other people with working drivers get this message in device manager as well?

Run through the entire process of how you installed, please. Did you do the "fix" as prescribed in this thread? about those midi light..... Mine just shows locked and the resolution (48k). Midi is unlit but I have been recording into my Cakewalk DAW and playback with no difficulties. Do you have any other MIDI interfaces on your computer? Are they enabled? So what did you do and what drivers did you use when you set up the EMU??

Thanks for replying, after some further investigation, i'm an idiot

I was using my ipad with a midi analyzer tool and as this showed no input/output from the dock i assumed, as there were no midi signal lights on the dock, midi was not functioning.

Hooked up my blofeld and the dock was indeed outputting midi. Now, i had already bought some iconnectivity interfaces as i also want midi to work dawless, but having 2x midi in/out can come in handy for hooking up editors/librarians etc.

However, i still can't assess if the installation went 100% ok, i'm still getting the message 'please restart your device to complete installation' sometimes. I'm reluctant do deinstall/reinstall drivers as the rest seems to be functioning.

The next step will be to fully investigate audio stability and latency and i might as well test midi jitter etc. On of the reasons i upgraded to win 10 is that the word is midi handling under win'10 had improved.

Okay guys, I just tried swapping out a 1616m system for an 1820m system (needed more inputs) but for the life of me, I cannot get it to display the name of the card in the device manager, so when I run the script, I'm getting two errors involving the "E-MU E-DSP Audio Processor (WDM)" friendy. I know the cards/dock work fine because I pulled them out of my old computer.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Did you completely remove the old card, software, etc. and reboot? And before you run the script after installing the software again, did you check to see how the EMU card is named? Mine didn't have the long name you show here. Mine just showed EMU E-DSP. There are two occurrences of the name in the script and both need to match exactly what you have on your system. Just edit it, save and run the script.
Give that a whirl and see what happens.

Yep, did all that. The issue is that the names are not showing up in the device manager. I tried editing the script both ways to account for any differences (I had to do this to my 1616m that was in that PC), but still getting the red flags when it comes to the friendly device names. It’s very odd.

Update: In Device Manager, I have Multimedia Audio Controller and Unknown device listed under Other devices. Can't for the life of me get it to pick up the name of the card.
