Shade Sonic Shades for UVI Shade

Post

Unfortunately not (yet???)

Post

Hoping the CPU consumption will be lowered.
I opened it in a small project in Logic Pro X and my MacBook fan is going wild immediately.
Can't work with Shade that way.

only when the UI is opened, right ?
Have you tried the OpenGL renderer option (available in the Preferences in the main menu)?

I get clicks and pops when I move the gain knob on any filter :( Tried all the various settings variations, anybody else having this issue? It seems to only happen around the -12db line/range. If I wiggle the gain knob around there it clicks, modulation also makes it click .

otherwise amazing plugin!

edit: shade 1.1.2
ableton 10x64 suite
motu m-4 (thunderbolt) 96000khz 1024 buffer

No I haven't experienced this at all with the plugin. Could it be connected to CPU?

Post

Don't think so, CPU is basically at 0%

maybe overdrivibg the output?
try to compensate by turning the gain out of the master down
maybe this helps?

I strongly suggest parallel processing. Yes, I know I've mentioned it before, but I can't stress this enough. When I first saw this plug, I immediately thought "I bet I could do some kickass parallel bandpass filtering with that". I was very disappointed to find that all of the bands are in serial.

There is a known issue for the Eqing filter type when the slope is inferior or equal to
6 dB/oct, where pops occur when moving the gain. The dirty fix we propose for now for now is to put the slope > 6dB/oct, like 6.1dB/oct. We'll work on that point.
I strongly suggest parallel processing.
Thanks for your suggestion.

Couldn't agree more. There are some really great feature ideas already, but parallel processing would add the most imo.

any news regarding some of the discussed/suggested ideas ? thanks !

Hello nirm123,
I'm working on a new feature for Falcon for a few weeks, so there is not so much advancement on Shade for now. :)

Passbot from sonic lab is good for parallel bandpass

Processing one of my Padshop 2 patches with a custom preset in UVI Shade which uses the multi-bandpass filter type and an HP to avoid too much low frequency mayhem.

A preset from an upcoming expansion – tuned peak and phase filter with tempo-synced pitch modulation via MSEGs.
