Seeing this thread again made me realize I've gone over a week with no songs stuck in my head

Oh no...there it is again

My brother-in-law just became a father for the second time. His son's name is, drum roll... Nikita! So I keep hearing that awful DX7 Rhodes and "countin' ten tin soldiers in a row..." in my head!

His wife is Russian and wasn't aware of the song.

Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays

I always assumed this song was about the modern office and hating to go to work on Mondays. I just researched the real backstory this week, and was horrified to discover what it was really about! It's about a school shooting in San Diego in 1979, which somehow I never heard about at the time (I was nine). The shooter was a 16 year old girl, who, when asked why she did it, explained "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day." Awful. And now I've got it stuck in my head. :(
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

I normally do not post in this kind of threads but let's see if the melodies which have 'bothered' me all week can spread to other musical minds here as well

The culprit is the title tune of a old video game called - The Curse of Monkey Island -
Possibly the best game music ever made.

The curse itself must have been that tune you can't get rid off :hihi:
The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

Great theme, memorable and terribly catchy! Thanks for exorcising Nikita from my brain! :tu:

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Sparks - Get in the swing

My son loves this one - wanders round humming the chorus all day
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Pitchshifter - Stop talking so loud

Haven't heard to it in years and suddenly it's in my head, right in the brains. 2020, man.
