copying pitch wheel and modulation controls

Hi;

I selected some midi notes and copied them to another bar. The only things copied are the notes and the velocities. The pitch wheel and other control changes aren't copied. I have tried showing the pitch wheel window and selecting the data but it won't copy.

How do I copy everything when copying notes?

Also, is there not an event list view in Waveform 11?

The system for mod wheel, pitch wheel, and CC messages is somewhat unwieldy relative to the automation system. I avoid using it as much as I can. Might not be possible to copy the CC.

I *believe* this is being addressed by FigBug at present.

One thing you can do is copy the clip with the control information in it. You then have three choices:

1. Leave it as it is, if you're just making a copy of the bar. This is actually an easy thing to do; I divide tracks into many, many clips so I can drag and drop copies where I need them.

2. Change the notes and chords accordingly, leaving the bend information where it is. This is great if you want the control information but also need to change the notes to fit that part of the song.

3. Delete the notes entirely, leaving the control information intact. This is useful where you need to change where, for example, the pitch bend is. You can then:

a. Offset the clip where you exactly need the bend
b. Create a new clip over that bend, with the new notes and new information
c. Merge the clips together to create one clip with the bend exactly where you want it.

Again, it doesn't have to be a pitch bend--it can be any control information.

I would prefer, of course, the ability to copy and paste control information in two moves, as you requested, but we're not there yet.

Merging clips is actually a super-useful trick for a lot more than just control information, of course. If anyone's not doing this with clips, it's worth looking into as a huge timesaver.
