Aha, yes thank you, spectrum analyser is actually what I was requiring. Excuse my knowledge gap here... well that is also why I was asking... I found one (melda) and does exactly what I needed. Cheers!Niowiad wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 2:21 pm Actually no. I happened to read "oscilloscope" in the title then also saw someone mentioned MOscilloscope.
Looking back at the actual OP, I'm not exactly sure an oscilloscope (which mainly displays the waveform) is what you're looking for, but maybe a spectrum analyzer (which displays the harmonic spectrum), as some people suggested.
Melda has the free MAnalyzer, which also shows Hertz value and (rounded up/down) pitch value for the most prominent harmonics detected in the signal.
This screenshot is displaying a "static" triangle wave at F2 fundamental.
With more complex and "non-static" signals, everything gets obviously more chaotic and more difficult to read.
It really depends on what kind of material you're feeding in.
Looking for decent software oscilloscope

I think Voxengo Span should do what you want, so now you have two.
