This video on MusicRadar may shed some light on how the full version of AmpliTube 5 vs. free CS is going to work.
AmpliTube 5 exclusive tech talk at MTS 2020
At about 2:30 into the video, Cedric demonstrated the new VIR Tech. There's a "VIR Tech" button that turns it on and off and accesses the new VIR mic placement page. So I suspect that if you click this button in the free version of AmpliTube 5 CS, you will get an alert telling you that you need to upgrade.
The demonstration gives a sneak peek at what to expect from VIR.

Forgive the question that has damn well probably been answered before:
I own AT 4. The only 'special upgrade' available to me is the 'corssgrade' for $149 that actually applies to owners of any IK product. Is this correct?

TH-U with the Rig Libraries mops the floor with anything IK has ever done. Seriously IK wants $300 for an upgrade price on Max? That would buy me 10-15 Rig Libraries which are essentially like Kemper profiles. Nice try IK but not happening

Last I checked their Fender Twin had not been revised and is about the same time as Amplitube Fender 1 (2009) and the AT4 Marshalls are very good.

I jumped Mercuriall after AT3 and later THU specifically for the rig player. I'd agree their in-house samplings (given free or rather early releases) doesn't reflect the overall potential.electro wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 8:31 amproof?punkfest2000 wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 7:42 am TH-U with the Rig Libraries mops the floor with anything IK has ever done.

But later on 3rd party releases really rised the bar and its getting better and better. They make the best youtube demo's too (as most are youtubers) which are linked in the website on every individual rig lib. .
I like the tones personally but like the workflow more to be honest. For example; The eq on the rig player is designed to replicate fletcher-munson (loudness) curves, the fastest way to blend tones into the mix. Also I don't think people buy more than 3-4 rig libraries so a custom collection also helps the fast workflow. And if you need a specific tone one in a blue-moon, you can always design by THU's algo amps. But I'll point out strongly its definitely not like working with presets, like we tweak ir reverbs to our needs they also involve fine-tuning.
PS; I still have a softspot for amplitube (many good memories), came here thinking it was released and could get the new freeware but...

So, if I use AT4 CS mostly for some FX pedals that I have bought over time, there's absolutely no point in going with CS5?

Does anyone know if the new routing includes a usable stereo workflow? Was using AT4 yesterday and reminded that there's no way to keep the settings matched on dual-mono amplifiers; you have to go back and forth between them. Rather inconvenient when using as a stereo distortion and trying to dial in the gain.

Here's in the promo:
I wonder if this includes Total Studio 2 MAX. If I bought Total Studio 2 MAX now, would I get the upgrade to AmpliTube 5 SE for free?IK Multimedia wrote:In addition, any customer who purchases AmpliTube 4 or any IK hardware package that includes AmpliTube 4 after October 15, 2020, will automatically receive an upgrade to AmpliTube 5 SE.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here.
