Digging Deeper into Molot / Molotok with Fabien from Tokyo Dawn Labs. Maybe someone has the 'Muse' to Translate this, during the next Lockdown
or just use Youtubes CC/ subtitles.

One Thing to begin with (in case you didnt know already)
Double Click on the TDR - Logo (Works with all of their Plugins).

The Hilbert mode affects the sidechain detector by rotating the phase of the signal. I've honestly never used it and can't speak to when you'd want to, but it's hidden there in case you need it.Tappistry wrote: Wed Oct 28, 2020 5:58 amWhat makes this different than regular sidechaining?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sun Oct 25, 2020 6:01 pm In the GE mode, if you Alt+Click the SC Button, you get a SC Hilbert mode. What a beast
Clearly one of the best compressors i've tested on drum groups. Very musical and also very good for creative compression. I was a bit sceptical about the saturation knob first, because i completly disliked the saturation in Slick EQ, but in Molot GE the saturation gets audible when you put it in dynamic mode and turn up the input ... very audible

For those that think they can get by with the excellent free version, the dual release, eq and saturation on the paid version takes it to a whole other level in terms of imaging and stereo enhancement. Hint, the eq is not just an eq.

I looked at the EQ in PluginDoctor and I couldn't make sense of why it has bell cuts at those positions. What is the idea behind this?Recourt wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 5:55 pm For those that think they can get by with the excellent free version, the dual release, eq and saturation on the paid version takes it to a whole other level in terms of imaging and stereo enhancement. It's just a mid-band peak EQ for the signal. Not the sidechain.

I don't understand the choice either frankly. But that's ok. I don't have to agree with everything every plugin developer chooses to do. I'd prefer to have the EQ in the sidechain myself, but c'est la vie. Maybe they'll consider it for a future update.v1o wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 10:00 pm That's really odd for a compressor. You could always just add mid EQ after Molot.

the eq's most powerful i think when you set it to 'dynamic' mode, because then it subtly changes the tone of the signal as it's being compressed--and the fact that the EQ channels are not perfectly matched, left-to-right, means it sort of makes the signal very very faintly "stereo-ized," but only on active GR
honestly, this feature is one of the reasons i bought molot
if anyone takes it away from me i will suplex that person into 500 gallon inflatable swimming pool full of vintage mayonnaise

Does it really matter? if it sounds good, then why not?ScrLk wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 8:19 pmI looked at the EQ in PluginDoctor and I couldn't make sense of why it has bell cuts at those positions. Fabien stated that this was more a kind of happy accident, which sounded good to them, so they just left that in.
