Curious about this as well.

Plus..

Will it be possible to hide presets that have gear we don't own?
Does CS have the same routing options?
And does CS have the power amp improvements?
Per the AmplITube 5 news it states "AmpliTube 5 also features a totally redesigned Custom Shop with a more modern, easy to navigate interface, helping users demo and unlock gear faster, sort by gear they own or don’t own, unlock preset-specific gear, and more."

The routing options will be different based on these specs:

Simultaneous models in 5 CS will be 24 vs 57 in SE/5/MAX
Simultaneous amps in 5 CS will be 2 vs 3 in SE/5/MAX

And updated amp impedance is listed for AmpliTube 5 CS (as well as SE/5/MAX obviously).

As long as you keep the qualifying crossgrade product (basically anything you have that's 99.99+) you will be fine. Note that AmpliTube 5 MAX is a separate install from AT4 MAX so you'd want to make sure any projects using AmplITube 4 MAX are transitioned to use v5.

Thanks- I went for buying a ZTOne DI with the free 5 SE Upgrade in the end...I will try my MAX 4 via 5SE and see how we get on...I am sure there will be an opportunity for people to upgrade to the new 5 MAX at some latter date...
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Hi Peter.

Two questions. Apologies if already asked, but there are 23+ pages here now...

1) Upgrade price
AT5 Max includes:
Fender® Collection 1 & 2
AmpliTube SVX 1 & 2
AmpliTube Orange®
AmpliTube Mesa/Boogie®
AmpliTube Slash
AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™
AmpliTube Brian May
Dimebag Darrell CFH Collection
AmpliTube Joe Satriani
Fulltone® Collection
AmpliTube Leslie®

I have all of these except the Satriani one.

The upgrade price is listed as €299. Is that an introductory price from any version of Amplitube? Or is that a price quoted to me at the IK site because I have AT4 Max?

Edit: I see that it is the same if I log out. So there is no benefit from owning Max when upgrading.

2) Resale rights
I bought the Axe I/O last year. It is a fantastic interface and I am very happy with it.
I have also upgraded Amplitude to AT4 Max recently.

But I understand that if I choose to sell my Axe I/O eventually, I will not be able to transfer the software to a new owner.

Is this for perpetuity? So if I upgrade my AT4 Max to AT5 Max it is somehow tied to my Axe I/O and can't be resold?

(I have never resold any of my IK stuff, I just like to know where I stand).
1) New users pay $/€399.99 not $/€299.99 for the AmpliTube 5 MAX upgrade/crossgrade so I'm not sure why you'd see the same price. I'll have the web team look at that but the system is set correctly as I can verify that and I see $/€399.99 if I try to put it in my cart when not logged in. Either way, with the gear you have you'd be best with either AmpliTube 5 or SE. All that you have will run inside AmpliTube 5 without repurchasing 5 MAX. If you want the new gear models like the New York, the VHandcraft, etc you'd opt for AmpliTube 5 instead of SE.

2) Only the hardware is transferrable per https://www.ikmultimedia.com/legal/inde ... -agreement under section 4.5 Software Transfer:

b) If the Product is part of a bundle o ... ered NFR.

Your upgrade/crossgrade version is not tied to AXE I/O as it wasn't bundled with it. You will still need to have a qualifying product (99.99+) in your account though to qualify for the crossgrade license is all.

telecode wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 12:19 pm @Peter had the Fulltone FX been updated for AT 5? I only see cabs and mics mentioned. I am assume any sound improvement of Fulltone will be coming from the new sound engine in AT 5.
The stomp itself has not so you are correct with: "any sound improvement of Fulltone will be coming from the new sound engine in AT 5"

And the whole chain will also benefit from the VIR™ technology on the cabs.

resynthesis wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 12:49 pm WRT Axe I/O, do you need to run the authorization manager on every machine it's used on? A pal was quite interested in the Axe I/O but couldn't work out if he could just use it without installing the authorization software everywhere he went.
Once registered your friend can just download the Control Panel (which includes the ASIO driver for Windows users, otherwise it is class compliant on macOS but you'll want to install the Control Panel as, well, and panel to control the interface. But no need to run IK Product Manager or Authorization Manager for the Control Panel/drivers. The Control Panel installation does not install Authorization Manager (nor does it install IK Product Manager).

jamcat wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 12:20 am Thanks Peter. Can you answer these specific questions?

1) Will AmpliTube 5 CS use the old cab impulses from AmpliTube 4, or will it be using a subset of the new AmpliTube 5 impulses? This is important to know for continuity.

2) Can you purchase AmpliTube 5 with Gear Credits in the Custom Shop? I don't see a pre-order link there like AT Joe Satriani had. Elsewhere someone said IK was ditching Gear Credits and pointed out that one of the AT5 videos showed the Silver Plate 50 and VHandcraft4 amps in the custom shop, but there was no button for "Use Gear Credits." So what's the deal? Are we no longer going to be able to use our Gear Credits?
1) They are a subset of the AmpliTube 5 full IRs. AmpliTube 5 CS will use 16 IRs per speaker vs the 4 IRs in AmpliTube 4.

2) That was a collection but since this is a flagship it doesn't have an option to pre-order with Gear Credits. I'll still run this up to see if there's anything possible. Gear Credits are still usable and viable and we still do sell Gear Credit packs, just to not leave that part of the question unclear.
Thanks for the answer, Peter.

I just have one question from what you said. You state that Pre-order is not available with Gear Credits. But what about when AmpliTube 5 is released? Will the full version be available to purchase as a Collection in the Custom Shop? Will we be able to use Gear Credits if it is? What about buying the new gear a-la-carte? Will we be able to do that with Gear Credits?
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

I'm asking for clarification on that. I don't want to make assumptions based on what's available in there for Gear Credits now, so I'll get more info.

Is there a side-by-side comparison of the versions somewhere?
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Yes for gear there's the comparison chart under the versions on the AmpliTube 5 page.

A version that compares features including CS limitations will be there tomorrow.

...and while answering questions up there, I did not add that we've updated that page with appropriate text on AmpliTube 5 CS unlocking your gear. That was indeed confusing to have nothing there, sorry about that.

No problem. I thought you meant you saw the CS chart and I was going to be both happy and then grumble "about ******* time" under my breath as that was expected already so again my apologies for that.

Thank you Peter. While it's nice that you can sort by gear that we own or don't own, I'm still not sure if that means we can hide presets that use gear we don't own. Could you let us know?
