Kinda kills the value equation, though.

Do they have a 32 bit version?

A sine wave is a sine wave and not a filtered noise! It is as narrow as it can get. Any self oscillating filter produces a sine wave...gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 5:32 pm Give me an example of analogue synth with this kind of peak
Example: of course Arp 2600, and also a Minimoog... Actually the Arturia and the TimeWarp do it as well, the TimeWarp sounds more distorted though, which would still give you a sharp peak, but additional peaks for the overtones... If you have seen less sharp peaks, its because you used a different analyzer...

Well yeah, there's 'that'. It's 64-bit, but uses that jbridge thingy for 32-bit. {assuming you're asking about the Unify app}. I don't own it as I have more than enough 'host' options, though I'm tending more and more to prefer stand alone synths, (including Reaktor/Kontakt/Voltage Modular as 'stand alone') usually run through shit-tons of effects on a networked machine, which I record {dry and effected} on a third. They are all fairly old (OC'd Phenom II Black's, and an Fx-8350) but work well enough with this config, using dedicated controllers.BONES wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 7:05 am Do they have a 32 bit version?

Not this peak , don’t you see it is isolated , ofsetted from the actual cut off freq ( broader peak ) .?Tj Shredder wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 7:47 amA sine wave is a sine wave and not a filtered noise! It has absolutly no fall off .
We already know about self oscillating filters and sine waves , this however is different ( used differnet analyzers set to differnet block sizes , al give the same result )
I made a picture to clarify it for you , the red dotted line is what's missing in the CA 2600 resonant peak , an obvious fall off
You're failing to see that the picture and examples I posted is NOT an isolated self oscilating filter , then it would make make perfect sense to see/hear a sine wave only , but it's a saw feeding in the filter

Could you enlighten us with the exact patch? Which frequency has the saw? Did you use the CA oscillator or an external source? The cutoff seems to be 7kHz. What is the analyzer you are using at which fft size and which sample rate? The image looks more like noise fed into the filter, or a very low frequency pulse train. A saw would have much less energy for the higher harmonics...
I don‘t see anything like your image when I analyze the output of CA2600...

The duophony is different than just a two voice polyphony. Its paraphonic, and you can use the second voice just as a CV for anything. It creates some of its own magic.BONES wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 2:23 amSeriously? In 2020? No polyphonic or unison at all? Any reason for such a debilitating limitation? I was interested until I read this.cherryDan wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 7:41 pmThe CA2600 is monophonic/duophonic, so MIDI Polyphonic Expression support didn't make a lot of sense for this particular product.
But of course it would be even more fun if it could play my pitch bends independently... For that MPE would make sense.
I actually like it to no being fully polyphonic... That way its different but in a good way...
Just for the „Band together“ patch I went back and bought DC-106 to say thank you. These sounds would not work with the standard polyphony...

Funny , first you write it’s normal , and now you say you don’t see what I have posted and you need guidelines . ??Tj Shredder wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 2:35 pm Could you enlighten us with the exact patch? This ain’t rocket science
Just put one saw osc through the filter and increase resonance , weird spike will appear @75% and onwards.
Signal analyzer is renoise’s build in one set to 2048-4096 Block size

-freq 4Khz (non kbd tracked ) ,4 pole filter
-osc 3 set to 16' , disable kbd
play note ( turn off reverb ), insert favourite spectrum analyzer

Let's use the 4 -p0le bandpass filter , do you now notice it ??

Yep, that ain't how filter self-oscillation works.
That's also not how you do modeling of analog components. Or you do, if you want to fake it really easily.

Maybe I am taking this to seriously but I want them to admit they faked it , shouldn't they ?

I'm kinda seeing the same thing in Voxengo SPAN, it's even more obvious:

Damn, I havnt seen a tear down of a plugin company like this in a while lmao. Guess thats what happens when you claim to have the best emulation. Breaking out the spectrums and all hahahaha

Demand for a good 2600 emulation is also likely reaching fever-pitch with the release of the Korg Arp and Behringer versions. But yeah, when you're a company who isn't UHE/Synapse and you're claiming it's the best emulation..for 25 bucks...you're probably inviting criticism (and that's OK!)vertibration wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 6:44 pm Damn, I havnt seen a tear down of a plugin company like this in a while lmao.
