I don't have softube modular, but got VCV specifically for the Mutable Instruments stuff (which I paid for), and VM when it came out, and much prefer it to VCV. These MI modules (and several hundred others) are included in VeeSeeVSTRack, for free:

I think the sound of Softube Modular is excellent. What others say, it seems to have the best quality of any virtual modular synth (and that's the most important thing for me).
But to be honest.... these software systems make me want to own a Eurorack system some day

Yeah, Ive got VCV, bought the Vult package. Never use it though not being VST.
Ive got a nice Eurorack setup and hardware effects so Im spoilt for choice, including some Mutable modules.
One thing software cant do yet is decent wavefolding IMO.

I got the ST ufold but compared to my hardware it isnt quite there.
I just really love the sound of wavefolding.

Ive got a handwired Toppobrillo Triple wavefolder which has extra controls compared to the usual versions and an Endorphin.es Furthrrrr, so a bit spoilt for wavefolding.

wavefolding i dont really have at present.
too many options, and not enough time to check them out.

ah well. ongoing projects are meant to be ongoing i guess, i didnt get in to eurorack to "finished" at any point. just to go as desired

i have one in my bug brand modular, plus two board type things, well a board and post card weevil.
i only ask as i didnt see tom mention it. but i could have missed it.
but then im not sure the bug weevils sound would fit with the rest of softtube?

i dont fold weevils, but i did once fold a millipede in half.

"Weevil Audio" makes some really cool modules for VM. I'm not aware of any connection to 'bug-brand' (modular), nor is any stated on their website, so I'd go with no.

bugbrand is a real modular brand... and they have a weevil module? didn't ssee it..

i only fold vurts.

Has anyone ever had a DAW crash with a message box about a corrupt Doepfer VCF filter (or a different module) and the suggestion to reinstall it?

There was briefly a weevil module for the bugbrand modular. Weevils, though, were originally a series/range/family of standalone boxes that bugbrand made before they started making a modular system. I dont have the module version, but I have several standalones.

Im pretty sure there's no connection to the company making digital stuff for CherryModular.
