Can I put my desktop STank 2 XL on my new laptop as well?

Are there extra fees or something? I work at a recording studio for an independant record label, I don't know if that helps or not. It would be nice to use all my apps on my laptop so I can still be creative away from my studio, that was the whole point of getting a laptop.

Cool! Yes it's definately mine, started a couple threads in hardware on the sucker before starting this thread. How does the registration work? The same way? This is way off the subject but are Fujitsu laptops any good for music? I just bought one because all 4 of the laptop reps at Fry's couldn't say enough good things about it, and there were more expensive ones from other brands. I have 13 days to return it. I already have a complaint about the onboard finger mouse/pad- the pointer slows down dramatically sometimes and the left click will stick- so all the sudden all these notes appear in the cubase Midi editor as I'm moving the write tool- grrr.Jeez wrote:Yes, so long was both computers are YOURS.

Sorry to resurrect this older thread, but I was just wondering if this would apply to the academic version as well. I know it says single user, but does that also imply "single computer"? Is there anything that's limited in the academic version of Sampletank 2 XL as opposed to the regular version?

If it's just the regular product (with an academic discount), then the rules will be the same - you can install it on a 2nd computer so long as it's yours.
If it's a separate/different version of the product, I don't know. You'll have to check the license agreement (remember that?). Luckily, IK's license agreements are relatively short and readable.

Kim.

Oops... I probably should have mentioned where I got that info from:
http://www.audiomidi.com/common/cfm/pro ... 4&cpid=392
I'm pretty sure I qualify, but I was just curious of what that route would involve. I wouldn't want to run into any unforeseen troubles...
Thanks Jeez. I'll read the license agreement.

That looks to me like it's the shop giving the educational discount, not IK. This hint is that the education discount policy (who's eligible, and what proof is required) listed for the product is shop-wide, ie. it's AudioMIDI's policy, not IK's policy. When companies provide separate versions for education, they typically enforce their own discount policy.moneil wrote:Oops... I probably should have mentioned where I got that info from:

So chances are, you've got a regular ST2XL.
