Hey guys!

Artemiy from Sinevibes here. Wanted to address a couple question here directly.

Regarding randomness - the plugin is actually build upon randomness. Each grain has a random size and is randomly positioned within the buffer. So each one ends up playing a different number of cycles per second. Moreover you can use "detune" to also apply speed deviation between all grains. And in addition to that, disabling "high density" also randomizes grain levels. I am not exactly sure what else you want us to randomize :-)

Regarding movement - we have tried a few ways to add additional motion of grains, but it badly clashed with our implementation of the speed control. Speed is motion too, so having two sources of grain playback control just makes it very difficult to calibrate to be an exact ratio. Having this tape/vinyl-like control that's super smooth and is exactly a certain ratio was no. 1 priority.

All this said, our R&D never stops!

Hey thanks for passing by! :)

Indeed disabling the High Density randomize the amplitude of the grains, as I've read in the manual. Therefore, creating a less static cloud. Cool tip! :tu:

Wonderful granular plugin, by the way. Pretty slick and unique. Well done.

Will you guys ever do Windows versions of your plugins? :(

Glad to hear you're enjoying it, thanks for the kind words!

Just so you know, just this week, after receiving some feedback, I spent a few hours adding a new movement source to Albedo. Basically each grain's position was being moved within the buffer by an LFO. The effect this gave was negligible... as the grains are already widely randomized, shuffling them made almost zero effect, it's like double randomness - the result is still just randomness. So, at least for now, the effect is as good as it can possibly be. But, again, we never stop experimenting, and if we come up with something truly worth adding to the plugin, we will definitely do it!

To be honest, I don't know :-( The last time I used a Windows machine was around 2002...
