Same but with filter (not so) wide open - no resonance

Just to clarify ( for those who missed it ) , there is also some REAL resonance going on ( not verry pronounced ) , both for the 2 and 4 pole filter ( the 2pole missed this on launch but got fixed )
Beyond 70% ,you get the funky fake resopeak for the 4pole filter
As I have written from the verry beginning , the 4 pole is just the 2pole in series ,some real resonance + ofsetted sine peak with no fall off ..starting from 70 %
I am just wondering , is this also happening in their voltage modular synth voice arp 2600 module ?
All of sudden Tj shredder has become verry quiet

Images of arturia and timewarp posted by a user from cherry audio forum
-resonance 80
-freq 4Khz (non kbd tracked ) ,4 pole filter
-osc 3 set to 16' , disable kbd

Arturia

timewarp

And mine , I think we've got them all

Yep, that's more like how things should be

So where is the comparison with the real ARP 2600?
Mac Mini M4 Pro | 14 Cores (10P/4E) | 48GB RAM | Studio One | Reason | Bitwig Studio | Logic Pro | FL Studio | Cubase Pro | Waveform | Reaper | Renoise | ~1000 VSTs/AUs | ~350 REs

Yeah, the point is that having a single sinewave spike for resonance is not how actual filters work. There's a gradual rise up to and fall down from resonant peak throughout the part of frequency spectrum around cutoff.

The cherry audio spike is the fake resonance peak , just look at it's amplitude .AnX wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 8:17 pm aside from the spike, they look nothing like the ca2600, I thought the spike was the problem?
Mixed in with the osc + the real resonance this sounds like a self oscillating filter ( at least that was their aim
And yes the spike is the problem because it's not filter modelling at all ,it's a cheap ass trick , it 's sounds dull, selling faux leather for real leather .
All of this would not be such a big problem if it wasn't for their bull marketing

the extra sine mixed in?

Could be a number of reasons: different gain staging of oscillator into the filter, obviously different way of generating the oscillator, then how is the mixing stage done before the filter (any saturation or non-linearities introduced there, but likely not in this particular case)...

i got one too
i like em, i touch myself when i get one.
a decent argument and i can cream myself in minutes
