You don't keep the Suite 9 stuff if you "upgrade" to Standard 10.
Not sure Suite 9 to Standard 10 is even cheaper than Standard 9 to Standard 10. I think it is the same price, or rather, the same upgrade.
Also, the difference of price between the upgrades (Suite 9 to Suite 10 and Standard 9 to Standard 10) is like $50. IMO it is downright stupid to lose all the Suite stuff just to save $50 (you are not even saving, rather "paying a bit less" in addition to what was paid for Suite 9). The Standard 10 to Suite 10 upgrade would cost $290 later, if you ever regret skipping Suite.

It's not official statement, so you have to double-check before you commit to purchase.

Why? Because you don't like to pay every 3-5 years for someone's work during that time?BUNJA wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2020 3:07 amlive has to have the most expensive upgrade prices they need to change that

Some people think it's an advantage, because Ableton upgrades their software so rarely, that it's worth the higher price every 3-5 years compared to e.g. Bitwig or Cubase where you "have to" upgrade annually.

Yes, but you have to pay less frequently (except for lifelong like FL), Live 8: April 2009 9: March 2013, 10: Feb 2018, so every 4 or 5 years. Digital Performer 8: Oct 2012, 9: June 2015 10: Feb 2019, Cubase: every year a new 'half' version you have to pay for, Bitwig: upgrade period lasts one year.

and always try to buy when there is sale. ableton can go down in updates/upgrades by 40% i believe.ReleaseCandidate wrote: Sat Nov 07, 2020 8:13 pmYes, but you have to pay less frequently (except for lifelong like FL), Live 8: April 2009 9: March 2013, 10: Feb 2018, so every 4 or 5 years. as cubase, don't know about bitwig, percentage.
if you can wait. advantage of bitwig and cubase, buy an update in sale, and wait...
is there a sale now of ableton? (mostly i can't see that, because i am always logged in, and have 10 suite..)
if you do your homework, and set money aside when you think i will buy this update, the costs can be handled.
i see in dollars, that an upgrade, but is an update!, to version from version is normally $239??
not that expensive, for 4 years... and yes the same amount in euros, that i don't like. but hee..
in sale? mmmmh, not that expensive, for 4 years...
cubase, yes every year, but if you can wait, it is €100 (i believe) per 2 years.. sale prices!, and buying full, or half versions in sale. if you wait, less. of course.
(by the way if you have cubase 7 or cubase pro 9, or every "pro" version in between, the update cost is: €199, without sale price... so, quite a deal in a way, i mean to cubase pro 10.5 now.. a great deal for version 7 and 8 owners.. and that also goes on sale once or twice per year?? me think only once, but sometimes...)
bitwig in sale is?? $129, i count in dollars, because as you are in the EU you can buy via several resellers in dollars, with discounts... so it would be €100 or so.
