Regarding the presets I always wipe the ones I don't have gear for from the disk, annoying but much better than getting the popup.

I must confess that amplitube gets less and less use though...
I didn't know you could do this? What do you delete?

I wonder if you will still be able to do it with A5 as it has the on line 'shop' integrated, my worst fear is that evetime they launch new gear it is just going to 'show up' in my version of A5 as something I cant use even though I don't want it!

Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 1:59 am It looks to me like you're getting a pretty great deal with AT5 CS if you own a bunch of AT gear already. You get updated models, the same cab functionality you currently have but based off improved models of the cabinets, resizable GUI, and more features than AT4 currently offers all for the low, low price of free.

Here's what you do folks:

1. Pretend AT5 regular and AT5 SE don't exist
2. Upgrade to AT5 CS and unlock your gear for free
3. Use it for a few months, maybe close to a year
4. Wait for a huge IK sale when you can buy the full AT5 for like $99 then knock off more of the cost with JamPoints, or one of their giant Group Buys

Result: Winning on fronts!

What you avoid: whining about IK's upgrade model and all related drama.

If you're already here, you are informed consumer. You know IK never does upgrades, they always give you a pretty good free version with limited features, and they always eventually offer huge sales with deep discounts later on. This isn't a secret or anything new.
thanks for the deep thought out logic, then just never buy anything when it comes out. Just sit and wait a few years. it will go down in price by 75% or maybe be a freebie on some site somewhere.

Teksonik wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 3:44 am Let me ask the other guitar players in this thread do you really use a lot of different amp models for your core sound? Do you really need to sound like Brian May and Slash and Dimebag, and Satch and Hendrix all in the same day?
In my case it's not about that. With Ampitube is they really are well modeled popular amp's that have been around a long time. So if I feel I need a "Fender Twin" sound, I load up the Fender Twin combo amp. If I feel I need the "Marshally" sound, I load up the Marshall and matching cab. Easy to quickly get to that amped guitar sound you know you want to use at that moment without a lot of tinkering of settings. I also use other sim's like Stark, but I am sure it would take my a long time to try to spin up something like a Fender sound in it. Why waste the time doing it? I just want to quickly dial it up, record the part and move on. That's the main selling proposition of IKM and Amplitube for me. To just mess around and experiment -- you don't need IKM .. you can use any sim you want it you want to kill time and experiment.

Re; the collections .. it's cool to see how they make those sounds and mix and match effects. Most of them are things I have never used and would never think of coming up on my own. So its cool to see how others do it and its a learning experience.

But you do get 16 impulses per cabinet (up from 4 in AT4). But, if loading your own IRs is essential to you, then yes you'll need to purchase an edition of AT5.

Aren't you driving two threads on at least two forums with repeated questions and complaints? What's the urgency here? Sounds like you're pretty unhappy with this whole thing. Why give them more money if so? You'd still get more than you currently have with AT5 CS for free. And will you be pissed in a few months when AT5 can be had for $99-Jam Points in a sale? So why again the urgency? How would you be harmed in any way over your current state not be improved by using the free AT5 CS over your current AT4? You'd be getting an improvement over what you were fine with last week for free, but that's clearly not good enough. It's only amp software dude. Buy it or don't.

Yeah. I am participating in multiple forums discussing the Amplitube 5 release. I am trying to make a case for existing Amplitube 4 customers and owners who also bought other IKM Amplitube collections that they should be getting a slightly better deal than just someone who bought something from Tracks 5 for $99. Existing AT 4 owners w/other AT 4 gear should get an upgrade offer of $99 to at least Amplitude 5. What are you gonna do about it? Sue me?

Ok then maybe I'm alone in this but I don't ever need amps like the Fender Twin or Marshalls. I'm just looking for one good rectified type amp sim that is playable and has the connection and playing dynamics of my hardware amp sim. Just one good balls to the wall sound for the core then I can add effects on top of that for variation.

The search goes on. Will I find it in AT5 ? Only time will tell I guess.....

It's not about "sounding like" Brian May or Slash or Dimebag or Satch or Hendrix. It's about having the Vox AC-30 and treble booster from the Brian May Collection, and the MXR SmartGate and Chorus models from AmpliTube Slash, and the JC-120 and Crybaby from Dimebag, and the JVM and vintage Marshall cab from Satch, and the Gold Plexi and Echoplex models from Hendrix. And then combining the Hendrix Plexi with the Brian May Vox cab and the Satch Greenbacks to create a Marshall Bluesbreaker.

These are all staples in my work.
Ok fair enough. I don't need all that variation in sound. I have one core sound and don't need to go from blues to jazz to metal and everything in between.

That's why all those collections don't really interest me and what lowers the value of the higher tiers of AT5 for me.

Just one rectified amp that has the connection and playability of my J Station and I'd be a happy camper.

Can't argue with that. Keep it nice and simple. I don't know what a J Station is.

What I do is save my preferred structure and presets in a zip. I delete everything and reinstall that zip...

Of course problem with that is that there might be improvements and stuff I'd like to keep.
Still, for me, better than the popup...

Thanks for the help with this- Hopefully V5 will just have the much requested option to hide gear and pre-sets we don't own (also the online shop is built in to V5 so may check on line and update every time you boot up...)
