Enjoyable stuff.
Many thanks for the feedback...

Well done!
Thank you very much - appreciated!

Yeah, it does have a wide dynamic range - that comes from the classical aspect of my musical background!

Cleverly done without a doubt, but it did make me fart even more for some reason.
Urrm - thanks for listening.

Sorry, no idea why it made you fart a lot...just don't light them...been there (1977)...never gonna go there again! :scared: :borg:    :ud:
You are never too old to light one up my friend. Just be careful who is behind you.
Just an old bloke who likes listening to a wide range of music. I also fart quite a lot!

A 'return-listener'!!!

Cheers, John.

Desperately trying to finish of my next project at the moment....another one that's a bit epic in scale...a tribute to Morricone! 9 mins at the moment and may never see the light of day...haven't decided yet!

Fun doing it though!

I am quite surprised to hear such a classical piece on KVR. Well crafted for the somewhat different listening experience. Nicely done with all that orchstral sounds. Good work. :tu:

Never really thought about a genre for this one at all...I suppose 'classical music' could cover it! :D I don't think I'd call it that myself, but I 100% get where you're coming from!

I've come across a few more serious orchestral and / or choral pieces from time to time (posted quite a few myself) but, you're right, they are NOT regulars as such!
Well crafted for the somewhat different listening experience.
Being very much programme music linked directly to a specific text - yes it is a little different from a lot on KVR.
Nicely done with all that orchestral sounds. Good work. :tu:

ChameleonMusic,
Thank you for the reviews! Now your song: it is starting out nicely with high quality sounds, and continued that way throughout. The vocal chorus and a few other things (like the orchestra) reminded me of E.L.O. Now this is evolving in a direction I did not anticipate. Reminding me more of film soundtrack music now. Around 6:10 giving me goosebumps. Very cool! :)

Thank you for having a listen, Aaron!

Never thought of ELO with this one, but I think I get what you mean (local legends of course for me living in Birmingham, UK)

Film Soundtrack - yep, that's the territory it's meant to be in, although soundtrack for a text is more accurate in this case!

Goosebumps - always good!!!

Personally I don't know if I could pull off program music with it not being kind of Mickey Mousing everything
Hiya Jan,
For me nowadays, 7 mins is pretty damn epic! :scared:

Have a listen if you get a chance - your thoughts are always most welcome!

Don't know whether it works or not (leave that for others to decide) but it definitely ain't Mickey Mousing! :)
Very 'cinematic', to use a word I'm growing to detest/for lack of a word.

I donno, you definitely wrote some <shining light above> music in section 3. ("Mickey Mousing" is not necessarily pejorative albeit I think very much of that sort of thing here will be ill-advised)

very effective chorus and orchestration of...

Hi Jan,
Cheers for having a listen!

Nah, I don't take MM as a negative necessarily at all - agreed (it's something I've had to do from time to time). I just meant that it wasn't what this one was all about, if that makes sense?

Glad you got the SHINING LIGHT ABOVE section - I tried quite a few different ideas there and eventually thought that dropping it down to pure SATB was what it needed!?

Excellent, though overall it was a little to upbeat for me to equate it with Dante's inferno, which
to me should be dark and miserable most of the time. I actually used that theme for a weird
generative piece I did in MuLab a few years ago, so maybe I am biased.

Great work though, enjoyed it.

100% agreed once he goes down through the Gates of Hell, but this one directly links to the text of the first 2 verses where he's still on the surface of the earth...very different part of the narrative.

Thanks for checking it out - always appreciated.
