Well, that's the beauty of this place, hopefully EvilDragon isn't bothered by it and I hope he's aware of our appreciation..jon wrote: Mon Nov 09, 2020 11:31 am I also can't understand why someone downvotes EvilDragon's posts in this thread.

Can you try the nightly version and see if it still happens?grandmasterbird wrote: Sun Nov 08, 2020 3:06 pmYes that’s the onecrickey13 wrote: Sun Nov 08, 2020 2:50 pmYou mean the August version, 1.7.1?grandmasterbird wrote: Sun Nov 08, 2020 10:45 am Latest release of Surge keeps crashing Ableton Live when I select a preset from the drop down menu.
I'm not bothered by it at all, in fact I have the whole thumbs up/down thing removed by using a Stylish script. Makes for a cleaner forum experience and I recommend everyone to do the same

That's good. Looking forward to the inclusion of new effects, I feel this will expand the sound palette of the synth quite a bit. I don't exactly dislike the original FX section, but I do feel it's not Surge's particularly strong point, everything else seems pretty much complete with the exception of that. It's nice you've thought of bringing it up to date, makes a lot of sense really.EvilDragon wrote: Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:34 pm I'm not bothered by it at all, in fact I have the whole thumbs up/down thing removed by using a Stylish script. 10.11 is the minimum requirement, it's stated on the website all the way on the bottom where system requirements are.ispot wrote: Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:58 pm what is the minimum osx version requirements of surge atm? cannot open the gui both with stable and nightly on OSX 10.9, tested with renoise and reaper

Just as a reminder. This is the tool to create wavetables for Surge.

It doesn't create the necessary metadata that Surge needs for wavetables. Serum does. If Vital produces Serum-compatible wavetables, they will also work in Surge.Tricky-Loops wrote: Fri Nov 20, 2020 8:01 pm Sektor wavetables, too

We plan on improving wavetable loading in the release after 1.8, with options to choose the frame size/number of frames manually, etc.

Vital saves their wavetables in something called ".vitaltable" and was not able to read .wt's as far as I could tell so it looks like no cross support for now. Should note that .wav files can be played by Vital so some of the 3rd Party Surge Wavetables can be accessed

About Vital wavetables, I found this discussion on Discord:
Tom
Cheers,User: wait, so vital wavetables are another file format?
tytel: yeah, most wavetable synths bake all the changes into the existing wavetable
like if you start with one table, and apply some warping and filtering
but i keep that information around so you can go back and change the source
it's like a keyframe animation editor, but for wavetables
if you've used something like that
User: so the tables wont be exported to .wav format to use in serum or falcon?
tytel : there'll be an option for that
