Is it 16/600+ impulses total per speaker, or 16/600+ impulses per mic+speaker combination?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Mon Nov 09, 2020 5:33 pm Since AmpliTube 4 had four impulses per speaker, the 16 are AmpliTube 5 so there is some improvement there. Quite a bit less than the sonic impact of 600+ per speaker, but better than 4 nonetheless.
The VIR video shows cabs being measured with different mics, which suggests each cab was fully measured with each mic, as opposed to an artificial process of removing the original mic impulse through deconvolution then replacing it with a new mic impulse through convolution, like TR Mic Room does.
If mic swapping in AT5 was a real-world process rather than merely a mathematical one, then we should hear a fundamental quality improvement in the sound of the cabs themselves at the impulse-capture level. Hopefully, this would show up as smoother, more natural, less “veiled” sounding cabs.
Can we get some info about this and what to expect regarding sonic improvement of the cabs in AT5?

Currently planned for before 31 December 2020; that's all we know.

I don't know but on Band camp they have guitarist Kiyoshi Minakami and he plays every instrument. Makes me want to give up. I'm 60 and never will touch that. Looks like he plays a headless type guitar in pic.

Wrong assumption I guess, "coming soon" while AT5 is supposed to be available in December

Meh. This new video doesn't actually show the new gear in action. I could have gotten just as much out of reading an IK press release myself in the "How It's Made" narrator's voice.
"On today's How It's Made: bird feeders, dowels, AmpliTube 5, cheese."

How about some A vs B videos comparing the most popular old gear, with their V5 updated versions?

I must admit the videos so far has been pretty worthless, as jamcat said, you could have just read that on a website...I just want to hear someone pay a guitar in to the effects/amps with perhaps some A/B comparisons to show the improvements. Surely that what everyone wants to hear?

To me, this update perfectly fills in the gaps of AT4. Now, the only thing I'm waiting for is a Gilmour Collection
