Hi folks, this is not a question about music for Cubase but more of a setup question, wasn't sure where to put it, so I thought I'd put it here(if this is not the right section please put it in the appropriate place!).

I am a beginner at live-streaming on twitch. I have used with success OBS Studio(It runs good), but I have decided I want to get creative with my streams. I own Cubase software, a Komplete Audio 6, and a Komplete Audio 6 MK2. It occurred to me that I could possibly use my laptop as my stream central, so I can save my gaming PC's performance for actual gaming. It took me a little while to figure out how to get it working, but I am almost there. Here's my setup:

My gaming rig has a Komplete Audio 6 attached to it so I can send the audio and video through to my laptop. My laptop hosts Cubase for sound processing and uses the Komplete Audio 6 Mk2. I route a headphone output to TRS converter into the Input 1 on my laptop sound card. I add an Audio input track to monitor Input 1. I then send the Headphone output 1 in the laptop sound card to my gaming rig speakers.

It worked better than I expected, however one small problem. The sound quality is not good coming out of my gaming PC. I lowered the gain on my laptop Input 1 sound card but that did not work. I have adjusted latency on my laptop without luck.

Is what I'm doing feasible? I would go the more basic route of OBS Studio on my gaming rig but I just have Cubase lying around that I want to put to use. I will use Cubase on twitch for audio processing and sound effects while gaming. Thanks for any advice!

I'd suggest going through analogue audio and your soundcard might be the long way round. My first inclination would be to look at using Newtek NDI (free) to send audio/video across the network from OBS.

Thanks, I will check out Newtek.

I tried using a spdif cable running Gaming PC soundcard SPDIF out to laptop/cubase soundcard SPDIF in and I just could not get Cubase to read the signal, which is why I am using the headphone output/TRS converter.

Is there any place that talks about a livestream-setup like this? It's hard to find information on this stuff.
