Hi,

I'm trying different work flow with Ableton Live and I'm exploring session view.

Let say we have an 8 bars Loop (X) that play along another 8 bars loop (Y).

Now let say you want to work on loop Y at bar 6.

So I will set the start position at bar 6 to avoid listening the 5 first bars before hearing the part I want to work on.

My problem is that I also want Loop X to start at bar 6. Is there a way to move all start position at the same time ? Or a work around ? If there is many clip you cannot set them one by one ...I mean ...you can but it makes no sens :P

In Live 10 you can't edit start position in multiple Clips, maybe it changed with 11.

I think it is possible with ClyphX, may require renaming all the Clips you want edited (you can rename multiple Clips).

(I think with "[] CLIP LOOP START X" X being the beat)

Clicking in the Scrub Area does work for multiple selected Clips, if the Clips start time was the same.

In arrange view you can edit multiple clip by linking track in Live11 and change the start and end of your clips (but not the loop position).
In session view you can edit multiple clip, you need to select them first then you will be able to edit the loop start and end of each clip one by one without selecting the clip first (Live11).
in that case you will have to listen to the first 5 bars only one time and all the clips will loop from 6 to 8 (you can't edit the start of the clip in multi edition mode)
Your problem is that you are trying to work in session view in the same manner as in arrange view and it's not possible.
In your scenario, it's better to work in arrange view and going back to session view after.
It's simple to go from session view to arrange view and vice versa

Exactly...

Being able to move the start point would make sense only if all clips would have the same length, which I would do. But that workflow isn't in the philosophy of the session view.

It's just that it would be easier to integrate Push in my workflow if I could work in session view.
