I hate one thing in Cubase and this is the insert handling.

I often like do do different effect chains for the same track and compare them later to see which one is better. You could use a plugin chainer for this, I want avoid that and it doesn't work for internal plugins.

The easiest way is to duplicate the track, but this doesn't always work. For example when using external sound sources or cpu intensive vst instruments.

A lot of other daw have a way to do it. Like creating effect racks or having an environment like studio one.

What's your best way to do it?

I know you can save your fx chain as a preset... then load those presets...

Save mixer snapshots and then switch between them
