Does anybody know where I can get the Cubase update a few bugs cheaper? For example can I buy it in $ instead of €? Or at some shop on Black Friday?
If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

Audiodeluxe for $. Not sure if they run black friday/winter promotions (for Cubase), but they are throught the year (easy to spot if you subscribe to audiodeluxe & steinberg newsletter).wangeroge wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:50 pm Does anybody know where I can get the Cubase update a few bugs cheaper? I won't be rushing. Seems to me they are just bloating it out with stuff that 99% of people will have covered in 3rd party stuff anyway.airforce111 wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 9:01 pm you guys think this upgrade is worth it? i got pro 10.5, not sure if i should go all in for that $100 upgrade to 11 pro.......
What I want to know is if they ever spend any time trying to optimize the program itself ? Every new version has put more and more numbers on used RAM and the CPU use has increased a lot. I tried similar loads in Ableton Live V8 and the CPU overhead was less (I did this on Cubase 9.5 tbh not 10 or 10.5) So I assume the fancy GUI is causing the issues ? Ableton, as drab as it looks, seems to cope better with high loaded projects. Cubase is just getting worse and worse. I wish they would spend a bit more time optimizing the damn program instead of relentlessly adding to it.

Can't they use a native English speaker for their videos. I can't listen to that, sorry.

Cubase Artist users now have access to VariAudio which used to be a Pro only function. :
Yet, Artist users still have no access to such a rudimentary everyday function as multiexport (or "batch export").
Not kidding, Steinberg assumes that Artist users are content with having to export each track in a project individually.
Steinis, when will you finally give Artist users access to all basic functions? I dont expect you to implement the most advanced or very specific features, but proper export of multiple tracks at once? C'mon, you cannot withold such a trivial feature or do you expect that Artist users don't have to bounce their tracks at some point?

Maybe lame to you but the Show Page feature is the only reason I even looked at Studio One, so it made them at least two sales (I made my bandmate buy it, too).chk071 wrote: Wed Nov 11, 2020 10:40 amDunno about that. S1 v5 was pretty lame, and they charge 160 € for it.
Anyway, I think I am pretty much done with Cubase now, after just 18 months. Studio One is about a million times more stable, does everything 10 times faster and is generally just easier to work with. Au$232 for an upgrade is outrageous because 99 Euros should only be about Au$160. Even if you add GST, that's still only Au$176.

If you don't like the "Hip-Hop" style official videos (from the official product page), watch the Live-Stream cuts/presentations by Greg Ondo, who is streaming tips and tricks on a weekly basis. It's on the same channel...rasmusklump wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 6:57 am Can't they use a native English speaker for their videos. I can't listen to that, sorry.

Greg also shows an interesting feature addition with the "Other Improvements" video. That being, that you can now resize(!) UI's that don't over re-sizing. The feature is called "Allow Window to be resized" (arrow down button on top right of plugin UI)
If you're a beta tester, or have general issues with plugins, "Usage Logging" (in preferences) might also be of benefit. I think this is also to combat possible issues with upcoming CPU's and drastic changes - most notably "Big Sur" and "Apple ARM".
Multi-Audio Track editing has also been improved (select tool!)
Here is the video directly:

Btw. Steinberg (Ed Doll) has confirmed that the release was a disaster, especially because of the overloaded license servers. Steinberg hadn't imagined it that way either. Apparently the requests to the servers were higher than expected (from the experience in the past).
Does it work in the meantime? I will probably wait a little longer.
