Indeed. In lieu of spending countless hours watching youtube demo's and tutorial videos of things I will never own.
... {actually, I'm pretty good at focusing on my interests/objectives and narrowing down potential acquisitions, so not much wasted time, and very few purchase regrets}
That said. There were several of Dreadbox's White Line modules I was interested in (and had recently picked up the Echo module), but seeing where he is going with these, I'm hoping he makes the other ones I want {Reflector/Random} in this format/layout. Definitely will pick up the Nostalgia (delay), and at least one more, so that I can transfer 4 of them onto a single 42hp plate, and color it to match my Antiphon.
I think that will look pretty cool.

I've gotten so sick of wall warts and line lumps and power issues in general.
I got 3 Cioks DC7s, a DC8 and 2 AC10s to replace as many adapters as I could. Well worth the investment. Eliminated some noise issues I was really struggling with and really cut down on the number of power strips I need.
I ordered a used pack of Zildjian cymbals on the cheap, for sound design experiments.
Also got a Noise Engineering Desmodus Versio to go in a Pod64X case with the Infernal Noise Machine, when it's ready. That should be a great stand alone noise box, to go along with my QPB and Landscape.

Definitely that is a problem, I have been thinking about making one for my modular rigjustin3am wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 10:47 pm I've gotten so sick of wall warts and line lumps and power issues in general.

out of a high output medical psu, having difficulty finding one with more than 2 outputs.
I need at least 4 to make it worth it I think.
At least I think you can do that anyway. Haven't really researched it.

Modular power is a whole 'nother can of beans. I should write something in the DIY section about the power systems I've built for my studio. A stupid amount of work but the results are worth it.
The Cioks PSUs are powering my Ambika, pedal boards, table top processors, 0-CTRL, KP3, MIDI controllers, Hungry Robot modules, network switch and a bunch of other things. Still need line lumps for the Elektron stuff and the MiniBrute.

Definitely I would be interested to read that if you were ever to find the time for itjustin3am wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 12:44 am Modular power is a whole 'nother can of beans. Reminds me I still need to build mine. Not having my soldering desk is a total PITA.
4 Nostalgias eh? Now there's an idea... :hype:
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Cioks DC7 really is a fantastic bit of kit. On my pedalboard I'm using two current doublers (i.e. 4/7 outputs) for high-power things, and running a GigRig Isolator off one of the other outputs which cheerfully powers 4 normal pedals cleanly.justin3am wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 10:47 pm I got 3 Cioks DC7s, a DC8 and 2 AC10s to replace as many adapters as I could. Delay (and reverb) whore that I am, I can see that as an option to having just one (with the filter and the two modules I just acquired), yes. Sounds legit.whyterabbyt wrote: Tue Nov 17, 2020 9:17 amReminds me I still need to build mine. Not having my soldering desk is a total PITA.

I have half-a-dozen Doepfer 42hp blank panels, as the spacial layout/size consistency is aesthetically and functionally appealing to me, for my 126hp (x 12u) case. So placing four of these in one unit, or two of them, and a Mutable Instruments Veils, and Xaoc Batumi for example, would be sweet.
Lots of possibilities actually, once I determine a reasonably fixed layout for my work 'flow', I'm looking forward to designing the panels as a whole. If I still had a shop (with proper ventilation) and all my tools, I'd go full-on etched copper, brass, and steel Steampunk... but, that's not possible/practical in my apartment, sooo... no.

The (replacement) Kasser DAFM Synth arrived today, and it works fine. Old school FM goodness and DAC badness... probably mostly going to be turned toward pads and drones, and maybe the occasional basses

Uno Drum on its way as it's extra cheap right now. I did sign up with Bax Music to get their Good Friday deals and there's a blanket 7.5% off over the period, but got to feel the 'original' prices they're showing prior to the deals are just bullshit.

Would love to know when in the last year even they've charged some of those claimed prices.
£2280 for a Novation Summit??? £316 for a Waldorf Streichfett??? £504.00 for a TB-03???? £3,741 for a Prophet 6????
