Sharing presets would be cool! Maybe on Facebook like amplitube 4 preset xchange.

I can't play with this demo anymore, I keep on coming up with sounds I want to save, then attempting to write something quickly before the 30minutes are up. Just going to have to wait until you can buy it, odd choice to have a demo without the ability to purchase?

Doing a stream of plasmonic, I don't know this one inside and out, but I'll give it my best shot
Check out my website for synth/software articles reviews and presets http://databroth.com (new review every monday)

I also do experimental sound design and demos of plugins (no talking) on my youtube: https://www.youtube.com/databroth

Wow! This would be great for sound design and film score guys.

Gave it a try, and I have mixed feelings.

To get it out of the way, I really dislike the GUI. The overall look. The tiny fonts which I can't read. The color choice and lack of border (the black background blends right into the black background of my host). The wacky sliders... they are just frustrating. I keep grabbing the wrong side, the coarse control is way too sensitive and the fine control too ridiculously slow given that you can just type numbers if you want. Why not just use shift or Ctrl for finer movement like every other synth GUI?

I like the concept, and it's certainly capable of some nice sounds. I don't like that the exciters are audible alongside the resonator with apparently no way to route them out. If I'm feeding a resonator with noise I should not hear noise unless it's mixed in parallel on purpose. It's a shame, because otherwise I like the character of the resonator a lot.

There's something weird with envelopes/gating. I can unassign all of the envelopes and just have an impulse feeding the resonator, but the resonator will choke when a key is released unless Env A's release time is cranked up.

Playing with this honestly just makes me want to patch Rings instead (while wishing Rings had a few more parameters... maybe I will get lucky and the unknown upcoming module from Mutable Instruments will be a new resonator, or some other Eurorack designer will finally realize that physical modeling modules should have audio inputs).

You can route and enable/disable the sources and the resonator, filter too.
About the noise, assign his gain to an env.

About the env, you can choose 2 mod per envelope: full retrig & legato.
The impulse is poly : try that :
Long amp release, impulse trig to note on,
Impulse: perc brush hit, transpose to -48,
Tone: max, no modulation.

Legato is not legato. It is some sort of milder retriggering.

In mono ,they are legato. In poly, in the milder like you said.

I tried the various routing settings but there is no way to hear the resonator without hearing the sources being fed into the resonator.

Maybe it's just how this particular resonator works. But if I feed white noise through Mutable Instruments Rings, a tight comb filter, a Karplus-Strong delay etc. I don't hear white noise.

I know :P

That's not what I was talking about. If the envelope isn't assigned to anything, it should not have any effect.

Right, it seams the voices amp is hardwired to note on/off.

The GUI seems excellent for multi-touch. :D
So the GUI will be my control surface.
I will have to find out for myself to see how well it responds.
Plasmonic can fit in my 23" ViewSonic MT screen but even a bit smaller it still should be ok.

I thought it was a beta, not a demo :scared:
