Yes I finally use audacity, that makes a clean job ...it automatically names the files as you want ...in the folder you want ...thanx !alex921 wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 4:14 pmAbleton detects transients, and slices them accordingly. So you're right, it would not be sufficient for detecting silence, but you can always cut out the silence from the beginning or end of a file, which is like 2 clicks in Ableton. I'd suggest if you want to do it the automated way Session 2 WAV, or perhaps even better use Audacity and detect silences and export them.Jolaff wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 3:38 pmYour video is good to split loops .....but what if sounds are seperated with silences... I don't think it would remove them....alex921 wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 3:04 pm How exactly does waveknife work? I tried it on a file, it couldn't detect a thing. You're much better of with the video I described in my previous post. Or use this program by Bjoern Bojahr called Session 2 WAV: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/sessio ... ern-bojahr

Audacity is the best I've found for this sort of work unless you own Logic or Mainstage with Autosampler. Before you name files, look at what the samplers require. If done right, it will take minimum effort to create a new instrument on import.
