Certainly the most timely expansion would be a dedicated Eddie Van Halen collection.

This is from before his passing:

"In the more recent years Eddie has been using an amp which he made in collaboration with Fender. It is an all-tube amp using eight 12AX7 and six 6L6 tubes, and featuring three channels (Clean, Crunch, and Lead).

He used a MXR Phase 90 and MXR 6-Band EQ at the beginning of the chain, and some other effects like Echoplex EP-3 Delay, MXR Flanger, and Univox EC-80 Tape Echo closer to the end of the chain.

These days Eddie uses somewhat different rig. He has a couple of his own signature pedals from MXR/Dunlop in the chain – like the EVH117 Flanger, Phase 90, and the EVH95 Signature Wah – and some other pedals like the Boss OC-3 Super Octave, Digitech Whammy, and MXR M234 Analog Chorus".

To me, this update perfectly fills in the gaps of AT4. Now, the only thing I'm waiting for is a Gilmour Collection
I was tinkering with AT4 yesterday and manage to get a really gear tone out of it.

@Peter .. FWIW.. I would prefer no more rock star name branded collections. Let's get some new amp brand collections similar to Fender or Mesa.. If find the rock star names off putting. Even though I like the guitar tone of the dudes, I just cringe when I see their name on the product. The thought of being fanboi #1 playing Brain May presets to Queen's greatest hits -- is off putting.

Think about it....if you owned IK wouldn't you want to take "advantage" of the publicity surrounding Eddie Van Halen's passing and want to jump on the current emotions surrounding his death ?

I'll wager a bet that more people know who EVH was than know Richie Sambora played for Bon Jovi or Tommy Iommi is Black Sabbath's guitarist or David Gilmore is Pink Floyd's guitarist.

I'm not saying I want an EVH collection I'm saying it makes sense from a business standpoint and we all know IK is more focused on business than anything else. I know if I owned IK that would be the next collection I'd be wanting to release.

I probably wouldn't buy an EVH collection since I'm not that impressed with Amplitube but maybe version 5 will change that opinion.

I know what you are saying. I just have an issue with the new facebook/instagram/twitter culture and society. they just embrace and jump on the latest bit of news byte and chew it all for all the personal publicity they can milk out of it for their own gain.

EVH was amazing, but lets be honest here. No one gave two shits about him or VH or listened to Van Halen in 20 years other that rural tail gate party folks. Fauk, I think I know the names of the brands of Tequilla that Sammy Hagar sells more than I do the last 5 Van Halen records. Now that EVH passed on, wow.. everyone is jumping on the publicity promo band wagon. The same with Prince (btw.. I was a huge fan and even followed him right through to the later weirder so-so records, Art Official and Pelectruc experiments).. no one gave a shit about Prince or his playing or music in the last 10 or 15 years of his life. He was that 80s has been with a small die hard following. After he died , bombarded mass media and Internet gets bombarded with how great he was.

All people want is to piggy back on the death of someone more famous so they can just ride the wave and get more tik-tock likes for themselves.

@IKM and Peter.. here's am idea. Jump on the Black Lives Matter bandwagon and make a collection that celebrates some of the great lesser known black players that influenced everyone. People like Curtis Mayfield, Sly Stone, Roland bautista (EW&F), Clydes Smith (Kool & the Gang).. there were a ton of them.

oh.. btw.. in case Italians don't know what a tailgate party is.

Let's be honest here you could say the same thing for the two you mentioned, Richie Sambura and Tony Iommi. Like I said ask the average hard rock/metal listener if they've ever heard of the three and I'm willing to bet more people have heard of EVH.

I can honestly say I've listened to a lot of Van Halen and Black Sabbath and own several of their albums but don't give "two shits" about Richie Sambura or Bon Jovi. I'd much rather see Randy Rhoads and/or Zakk Wylde collections.

As long as they release a Gilmour collection before they stop!

Not about jumping on a bandwagon but yes, there are lots of black guitarists who get no recognition.

Eddie Hazel & Ernie Isley are 2 examples along with those who Telecode mentioned. What about BB King?

Nothing wrong with having an EVH library, but some more diversity would be welcomed.

They can't just slap Eddie Van Halen's name on something without permission.
Same with David Gilmour, or anyone else.

They could model the gear without an official endorsement or licensing agreement, as they have done plenty of times. But they'd have to call it the Freddie Von Whalen collection.

I do like the idea of Randy Rhoads, Zakk Wylde, and Tony Iommi gear. Maybe put it all out as a single collection.
