You´ve written "Just installed on Win 8.1 ...all good.."
How did you do this ?
I also tried to install Cubase 11 on my Windows 8.1 computer, but this is not possible and the following error message appears:
>An unsupported operating system has been detected. Please make sure that youn are using Windows 8.1 or a newer version of the Windows operating system. <
The Steinberg Support claims that the installation on other operating systems besides Windows 10 was prevented in the Cubase 11 installation routine.
Is there anyone else who managed to install Cubase 11 on Windows 8.1?

I just tried Spectralayers on two songs, one recent one from 80s and the vocal separation results are crazy good. A lot better than RX and Audionamix.Tveten wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 5:34 pm hoping for a hands on review, maybe theres one in the youtube reviews. I'm still waiting to try and activate my license again. There are too many people over at the Steinberg forum who have completely lost their licenses and are now unable to run Cubase at all. At least I still have my license for 10.5 on the dongle.

Thank you! I pulled the trigger on the update, fingers crossed now. Tomorrow I’ll see for myselfozinga wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:18 pmI just tried Spectralayers on two songs, one recent one from 80s and the vocal separation results are crazy good. The "Global" window inside Key Editor would alone be worth the $99 IMO. There are some real workflow enhancers, and another thing I'll have paid 99 bucks for in itself is the Imager. then there's Spectralayers... then there's the ability to warp multiple audio events at the same go. Some of it I'll probably be enthusiastic about later that I don't fully grok atm.
It was around 7 hrs I had to wait for Steinberg servers to sort the update from 10.5, which killed the 10.5 activation ("pending activation" status) for the duration.

Yes activation was slowwww for me too. But you have to be really patient. click the button and then walk away from the pc for awhile. at least thats pretty much what I didAcrossTheSky wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 11:15 pm I was lucky...upgrade went fine - but I did notice it took about 2-3min the activating process alone..

I just bought the upgrade. I updated the Download Assistant first, then started downloading the new packages, then bought the upgrade, added the code to the D.A. which then bought up the eLicencer which authorised it within a minute.
Just waiting for the downloads to finish.
Assuming it all installs ok then this was a piece of cake.....
Grum.

I should mention I used eLicenser Control Center not the download assistant...VitaminD wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 12:56 amYes activation was slowwww for me too. I had activation code - If I had download access code I would enter it in my account not through download assistant...

This was the first time I've had a problem and I've lost count of the versions that I've upgraded. I've been using Cubase since SX I think. I know I skipped a few updates, but certainly since version 6 I've kept up to date annually.
Anyway, tried the update again about 9am today and it flew through for me.

Quick comments:
Installation: Worked fine a few hours ago, used Download Assistant. Reasonably fast download time. Updated from Pro 10.
Spectralayers: Tried it on a supposed real tricky one, Hair (from Hair). As expected that wasn't really doable, but it separated the bass and drums pretty well from the rest which could be useful in itself. It kept the background vocals to some extent and cut the lead vocals pretty good but far from perfect.
Also tried it on this a swedish musical track (guldet blev till sand) with full orchestral arrangement and vocals where it actually worked very well. Some minor artifacts but good vocal separation and good clarity in the instrumental track.
If you expect "instant magic" it probably has to be a track fit for it, but I think the result was actually good. Very easy to use also.

eLicenser menu/Actions/Recover does the trick (after 5 times ...) I was able to register it on the very first day ... it was a tip on the Steinberg forumFirebird wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 11:50 amThis is why I always wait to upgrade.andrew71 wrote: Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:52 pm I'm still waiting to try and activate my license again.
