The audio-engine is already finished and the plugin is very stable and PC.
The GUI will still needs to be polished. Some features might still be added here.
Next week i'll try to do a first port to the Mac.
I am currently building patches and running tests.
Audio demos will be available after programming and sound-design finished.
Most likely there will be no video available. I don't have time and budget for this.
Do a Port for the M1 ARM already if possible! these new power CPUs need some new toys :)

from the bit we can see of the ui, it looks much nicer than previous Tone2 synths, can't wait to try this one out. promising features as well
Check out my website for synth/software articles reviews and presets http://databroth.com (new review every monday)

I also do experimental sound design and demos of plugins (no talking) on my youtube: https://www.youtube.com/databroth

There will be a ARM port for it. I also plan to do ARM ports for the other synths.
However I do not recommend getting such a machine before 2022. It is still new and most likely there will be various technical problems.

i really hope for a good randomizer! loved it in Gladiator 2 but thats years ago. Icarus 2's randomizer is now optimized? i didnt get it yet due to money calculations.

The randomizer is one of the main features of Warlock. I definitely can guarantee that it creates really interesting, inspiring and musically useful patches

where's the fun in that?

why not make tutorial videos showing ppl how the synth works to encourage them to get stuck in and make their own patches?

Post

Where's the fun in using presets? Some people are rather into producing tracks, and don't want to get into patch design. I guess in the same way, some people want to press a button, and get inspired by randomness. It's more or less the whole fun with sample mangling and granular as well (AFAIC).

Randomizers are great...

its great fun

you learn how a synth works and you get the exact sound you want (not settling for something close enough)

there's also pride in knowing you made the sounds you use yourself

patch creation can often end up triggering track production too

win/win

you could be pressing the randomise button for hours before you find something you need, by that time you could have created it yourself

Post

It only takes around 10 button presses (10 seconds) in Warlock to create a really great patch in Warlock. Guaranteed

I agree. What I meant is what's the fun in using presets other users have created. In the sense of, you could ask that question too, but, there's a lot of people just using made presets, because their fun is creating tracks with them. :) In the same way randomizing a preset to get inspired could be fun too. Even though it wouldn't my way of approaching things as well. I rather take the approach you described. That is more fun for me.
