Modern alternatives to allmusic.com

For well over a decade I have relied on allmusic.com to research albums and artists I am interested in, but over the last 5 years or so I have noticed that they just haven’t been able to keep up with the times. Many noteworthy newer artists and albums are not given reviews at all so it isn’t a very good research tool for a lot of music that was made in the 2010’s and into today.
I am looking for something that is similar but more active and relevant.
The things I’ve always liked about allmusic are both the encyclopedic scope and the clean, intuitive organizational structure.
I also like the somewhat consistent editorial perspective because even though I don’t always agree with their take on things (mostly I don’t actually), it still helps me put things in context because I am familiar with their point of view.
Many of the alternatives I am familiar with are mostly crowd sourced so they lack that editorial perspective.
Pitchfork (though a bit long in the tooth culturally) seems to check many of those boxes for me, but I find their editorial perspective and aesthetic to be completely insufferable.
So my question is, what else is out there?
What do you all use these days?

Most of the ones I use (in addition to the ones you mentioned) are not exactly like allmusic.com, but more smaller or specialized, etc. Like you said, many of the alternatives don't have the clout behind them of allmusic.com, and it is tough for a lot of these type sites to survive.
But, the important thing for me, is if can somehow cobble together the info I want out of all of them:
TheQuietus.com has really been a great source of info for me.
Treblezine.com has a lot of good reviews on a lot of different things.
dustedmagazine.tumblr.com
nwoutpost.com
progarchives.com
progressiveears.org
discogs.com
stevehoffman.tv
musiccritic.com
residentadvisor.net
popmatters.com
wikipedia
the late, lamented scorebaby.com was also a trove of reviews of exotica, lounge, sound library, retro film soundtracks, obscure stuff.
even Amazon.com user reviews.
consequenceofsound.net
prefixmag.com (not updated anymore)
I am sure others will pop into my mind, lol. Hope this helps!

Yeah I think allmusic is such a behemoth that it’s hard to imagine that there’s a one to one equivalent.
I don’t fault them for having a hard time keeping up either. There is so much music released nowadays and the whole industry is so fragmented that it would be near impossible to cover things the way they used to.

I stopped visiting allmusic a long time ago, in favour of Discogs, mostly. You don't get a lot of reviews on Discogs but their suggestions have put me onto a decent amount of good music. My ZuneHD is, of course, bursting with a treasure trove of information on bands I already know about, all courtesy of allmusic.

Long time ago I switched from allmusic to discogs. So far it worked out nicely...
