what's everyones gripe with catalina? been working smooth as butter here with all 3rd party plugs i have

Because it means many plugins and instruments I have, including Metasynth, the Virus Ti plugin and editor, Clavia G2 Modular editor and Audiomulch, will no longer work.

I dumped Metasynth for Catalina, but a new version is due in December, not for free though.

I guess you have to pay some toll to apple for them to allow your plugins to work now. It seems many indie developers wouldn’t or couldn’t pay that toll. I am only assuming that there is an actual fee but I don’t know really.

Correct me if I'm wrong. As a developer you pay $99/year to Apple. No special fee for porting products to Apple Silicon.

Same, I get that it's not easy jumping through hoops, but Metasynth could be so much more useful than it is. Imagine it as a VST, synced, etc. etc. I have this Mac Pro for "dead" apps, and Metasynth will live here.
