e-crooner wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 11:51 amOn the German Wiki page on Talk Talk there are tables showing the data for 5 countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, as well as the UK and the US), you don't have to speak German to understand:
Shit, eh? I'd have assumed that Wikipedia gave the same info in every language. It's strange that it is very different info on the German and English sites, especially as the English site has a separate Discography page. You'd think the info from both sites would be combined over time. I'll tell what else, too, Edge does a great job of translating, it's almost perfect English. That's good because now I am going to have to check both sites for info on everything.
No idea what you are talking about, the chart positions are exactly the same, I just checked.
Album sales in Germany are not even listed on the English discography page, so one can't compare...

Yes, that's what I'm saying, You'd expect the information on each version of the site to be the same. I'd have assumed, for example, that if I created a page for my favourite local band from the 80s, MEO 245, that it would get translated into other languages and appear of those sites as well, not be exclusive to the English Language site. But it now seems that is not the case, given the different/extra information on Talk Talk available from the German language site.

It may not seem so strange to a German speaker but when you belong to a country that speaks the same language as a dozen other countries, you get used to the idea of all those resources being pooled, not being country/language specific. In a way it seems like a form of racism, hording knowledge based on the language you speak.

Oh yes, Wiki pages are usually not translated, but written by enthusiasts from each country.
On the Serbian page there is even more data :hihi:

An off-topic discussion on choruses from the Obxd thread:

Here is a little chorus comparison, first dry and then 3 different choruses, including Tal's, Module, and the synth's internal one. Which is which?

I was just programming strings on my synth, and I remembered an LFO-type sound from some orchestra strings. I recreated it in my string patch, but is there a proper musical term for that way of playing the strings?
