Isn't Valhalla's SuperMassive the top free plugin of 2020?? Do they feel the need for such chicanery??? Maybe there's a lesson to be learnt there??????

If there is an award for silly drama, you have a good chance.ElevateAudio wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 2:42 am Isn't Valhalla's SuperMassive the top free plugin of 2020?? Do they feel the need for such chicanery??? Maybe there's a lesson to be learnt there??????
Nice plugin, GSi. I appreciate it.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Just wanted to say that I don't necessarily like the advertisement, but I do appreciate the freebie, and that GSi has to make a living here. So, thanks Zio! I also love your GSi-201, great Space Echo emulation.
A well-behaved signature.

Thank you very much for the Varispeed, Guido! It's a real charmer.
I wonder what this means, in the manual:
"– not to forget that the real unit can change sound and behavior in time, as the tape loop degrades itself until becoming unusable"
Kind regards,
Joachim

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Hi Joachim, I saw you posted the same question on the other forum a few minutes ago, and I replied there.Spitfire31 wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 9:28 am Thank you very much for the Varispeed, Guido! It's a real charmer.

That would actually be a pretty nifty feature in the digital world, too.

I'm not sure if I'd want it to sound different each time I open a project.El°HYM wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 9:56 am That would actually be a pretty nifty feature in the digital world, too.

And if you had full control over that feature & Also could just turn it on, off?

Maybe a possibility to add a time stamp or something like that?
But would you need to perform maintenance on the plugin as well? Buy new tapes from GSi? Smart thinking!

It is a pretty cool idea.
For Maintenance you should at least clean those Heads, once in a While!

No personal information is collected. And no, computer name and user name are not personal information.

You are trying to dance on the head of a pin here.
Computer Name and User Name are sensitive data, along with the IP address, in that disclosing them is a potential security risk. Therefore if the server where you store such data were to be compromised, this in turn would increase the security risk.
This is I.T. security 101 and something all developers should know

You have skipped two pages of discussion on this topic. I have responded on that a few posts behind.

Haha! Actually, when we were working on the Crumar Seven a few years back, one bizarre idea some of us were discussing about was the ability to have the Rhodes simulation to wear out over time with settings that would loose their initial position and even tines that would break, along with the possiblity to have a store where the user would buy virtual spare parts. While this was funny discussing about, I for one would never buy a digital instrument with such "feature"Lotuz2019 wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 11:03 am Maybe a possibility to add a time stamp or something like that?

On the other hand, many modern videogames use a similar concept, where you can gain virtual money or buy credits to buy virtual accessories for your avatars. And people do spend lots of money with that stuff.

Maybe you should read correctly GDPR description and requirementAnd no, computer name and user name are not personal information
--> User names collected with other informations are sufficient to identify a person
--> Also, article 12 , per example, (https://gdpr.eu/article-12-how-controll ... e-subject/) explain that you have to explain how data are processed
If software is free but DATA share is not mandatory, i assume there are some marketing work behind
But yes, i understand that's the difference between "free software" and "open source / licence that respect private DATA"
